Doctor Caring For Cheney's Victim Nabbed in Iowa for Prescription Abuse
Steve Gilliard this AM asks why Whittington was taken to the tiny hospital farther away than to the closer hospital with the trauma center. He also points out that Whittington's doctor, David Blanchard, was sanctioned by Iowa for prescription abuse....

Here the doc is getting slapped on the wrist by Texas, apparently for the same incident....

Nothing but the second-best for Good Old Harry....He took one for the team (snicker)

1. It just never ends with these people.
Why am I not surprised that Wittington would be taken to a 'Dr. FeelGood.' Sigh!

5. You now, the more I think about it
the more I think the DUer calling himself Rex_Goodheart was right the other day. The reporting delay wasn't so much that Deadheart Dick had been drinking, and more that they were waiting and hoping that Harry would die of his wounds, so they could claim it was Harry's accident and Cheney had nothing to with it.

12. It just dawned on me. These very connected, evil people, have
dragged us down into the gutter they live in.

Or Deliverance...I'm still not sure.

All the wicked little webs all interwoven here.

Problem is, there's so much that smells on this scandal, what to focus on?

3. Wow... look at this story featuring Dr. David Blanchard
I'm assuming this is the same Dr. Davic Blanchard featured in this story... take a look at his very timely quotation:

"But Blanchard said that, by far, the drug most abused by ER patients is alcohol, and accidents related to that legal drug outpace those connected to illegal drugs by a wide margin."

Here's the rest of the story:

9. Tiny hospitals are more easily silenced/bribed.
That lil ole hospital will be getting all kinds of government grants for assisting in the coverup of this man's condition.

18. And...
that lil ole hospital probably doesn't have near the ability to treat Mr. Whittington's wounds, as Spohn hospital does. You would think DICK would want the best and nearest of care.

13. I suspect you're right....
You might recall that the goof who did the autopsy of the intern who died in Joe Scarborough's office and declared it was "natural causes" (although the cops who brought her to the morgue said she had head trauma) had had his license to practice medicine lifted in another state (Missouri?).

15. I don't understand how "didn't go to nearest hospital" meme got started
look at a map, and you'll see the locations are arranged as follows (from south to north) :

Armstrong Ranch
Kingsville
Corpus Christi

In terms of proximity, it makes sense to go to Kingsville first.

17. right, that piece says Whit went to Kingsville first, then Corpus
"Armstrong said emergency personnel traveling with the vice president treated his wounds and he was transported to Christus Spohn Kleberg Hospital. He was then transported by air ambulance to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi."

I think the confusion comes from the similar names of the two hospitals:

Christus Spohn Kleberg Hospital is in Kingsville, while
Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi

23. No, he's still at Spohn MEMORIAL hospital, in Corpus Christi
Whit first went to
Chistus Spohn Kleberg Hospital in Kingsville
then transferred to trauma center at
Chistus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi
where he remains today.

29. It's also a huge chain
The one in Kingsville and Corpus are the same chain. It is still fascinating that such a sleeze was the doctor though.

20. They could have just called Rush Limbaugh to the scene.
This is so incredible. Well, not anymore. Anything is believable now.

But really, Rush could have given him all of the pain killer he needed. Speaking of which, why isn't Limbaugh in jail yet? Oh, nevermind.

This too shall pass. Like a kidney stone.
