Is There a Cronyism Link with the Dubai Port Deal and the Bush Administration?

A curious bit of information popped up yesterday regarding the issue of a Dubai company taking over 6 U.S. ports. It seems that Bush has annointed an executive from the Dubai company, DP World to a cushy government post:

Dubai, 24 January 2006: - Global ports operator DP World today welcomed news that one of its senior executives, Dave Sanborn, has been nominated by US President George W. Bush to serve as Maritime Administrator a key transportation appointment reporting directly to Norman Mineta the Secretary of Transportation and Cabinet Member.

The White House has issued a statement from Washington DC announcing the nomination. The confirmation process will begin in February.

Mr Sanborn currently holds the position of Director of Operations for Europe and Latin America for the Dubai-based company.

Interesting coincidence?

1. There is no such thing as a coincidence
especially in this administration. I'm wondering if getting this post is tantamount to the fox guarding the henhouse in regards to payments, oversight, etc.

2. Rudy's little crime family friend was on Faux today

and he was a real little cheerleader for this company to get the bid.

That means it is linked to good ole Rudy G and the Crime family.

The Faux Reporter tried to gentle ask him if maybe there was another company that would be better.

Rudy's friend kept saying, " Oh no, they are a fine company."

5. I asked earlier if cronyism helped
ensure the deal was allowed to proceed.

Is this man related to James Baker III?

Stewart Baker, an assistant secretary in the Homeland Security Department.

The Treasury Department's Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States received an assessment from U.S. intelligence agencies. The committee's 12 members agreed unanimously the sale did not present any problems, the department said.

“We wanted to look at this one quite closely because it relates to ports,” Stewart Baker, an assistant secretary in the Homeland Security Department, told the AP. “It is important to focus on this partner as opposed to just what part of the world they come from. We came to the conclusion that the transaction should not be halted.”

I don't know where to look for this info. But Baker's influence would have been quite helpful getting this through if this man is related.

Just trying to see if there are dots to connect. I hope this isn't off-topic.

DUers actually believe this is an Arab company or a front for Bushco et al.
The Texas mafia and their goons are seizing all strategic ports of entry.

Dubai is a tax haven for the British establishment. Check this one out carefully - there must be a link to Buscho.

Edit -sp.

7. If it is indeed an Arab company...
it would seem to make 9/11 MIHOP more and more likely, wouldn't you think? I hope you are correct (as despicable as it is) that this is simple cronyism. The other is almost too upsetting to contemplate.

view of 9/11. By the way Bushco is evil enough - either way New York and the rest lose.
