They win
I am preparing my papers to emigrate. I can't do this any longer, the little Republican liar on C-span embodies everything that is wrong with this Country. She is twenty five and has every answer.

I never thought this day would come. This is a bunch of shit, but I simply cannot listen to any more of these lying, hypocritical SOBs. We had better discuss ancient history and talk about why the Democrats are, oh, so much worse, than those wonderful Republicans!

1. Those are the Reagan babies
and they are indeed a source of discouragement.

I wish yoy luck. I'm looking forward to trying to find work abroad myself, after I get my degree.

12. I hear it is hard to get into Canada?
I have some friends who retired there and it was a long, long process. They love it, though. Mild weather, good folks.

17. Yeah
At the moment I would qualify, however that might not be the case in a few years.

4. 18-29 year olds were Kerry's best age group
He won them 54%-45%.

If you are going to leave, please at least stay registered to vote in this country. Those of us who have chosen to stay and fight would appreciate that one small gesture every couple of years come election time.

5. Good suggestion and
a good strategy. You might help make a difference at election time.

6. no time for demoralization!
i believe the entire repuke (not 'republican, hell many of us are 'republicans') schema depends upon demoralizing as many as possible, and it works, but you must remember, most citizens are too caught up in the struggle to get by in uncertain times to pay attention to the exotica of politics- the rightwing has ALWAYS, going back to adam and steve(?) tried to convince the herd (the masses) that it's just so complex, so detailed, so hocus pocus that you need a witch or a priest or a foxnews/cnn to explain it and soon....and the 'people' mostly are operating blind (few trust the news anyway, olife having taught all intelligent people that truth is complicated)...it is this that we fight: the prevalence of the Great Dull Beast to go the way the loudmouth busybody liars provoke it to go. If we give up, the Great Dull Beast will end up herded to the edge of abyss while being chased by a monster (really a lil kid in a fright mask and with a pointed stick)...
let's get them and put them all in jail!

11. Maybe, I need to quit listening to WJ on weekends!
The real wingnuts call in on Sat & Sun. This lawyer is sane, it is reassuring.

I really can't go much further than I am now from the nearest VA hospital. So as usual I guess I'm talking out of my hat.

8. I see no light as well.
I also see no options in a new country at my age. Immigration is hard and unless you have certain skills, most countries don't want immigrants from what I've seen. Maybe I'm missing an option I haven't seen. I sure hate living here under rule of ideologues looking for force world dominance especially without a working constitution and checks and balances. I guess there is hoping for a miracle.

14. I'm trying to emigrate sooner rather than later, too...
Edited on Sun Feb-19-06 09:38 AM by ixion
although it won't be for a few more years yet. Hopefully I'll still be able to leave when I'm ready.

I just can't stomach watching this country turn into Jesusland, and I think it's probably too late to turn the cycle back. It will have to run its course, which could easily span the remainder of my lifetime.

Nope, I won't sit around and be a whippin' boy for the xians.

...about anything force you to leave? She probably hasn't even been out of the country yet, and for DAMN sure hasn't enlisted and served their country yet. Of course she has all the answers, she is ignorant, and inexperienced, and has not actually stepped out into the world to see what reality is all about. Anyone can be a pseudo-intellectual, if all that they know comes from a damn book, and none of it comes from real life experience.

Shame on you for giving a person like that, that kind of control over your life.
