14. Dirtiest Campaigner Ever
His flag-waving, liberal-baiting, n*****-bashing campaign against Dukakis was the nastiest in modern history. Don't just take it from me. Jack Germond came to the same conclusion.

23. Let's see
he said I shouldn't be a citizen because I'm an atheist, he tried to take my husband's SS benefits away from him because he's not a citizen (while still requiring him to pay into the system) and he fathered the present resident.

What's not to love? :sarcasm:

4. As long as you overlook the bloodstains on his hands
I mean, what's a little harmless slaughter in the Middle East and Central America? It's not like anyone you know was brutally murdered. Unless you did know them, in which case aren't you glad you're still alive? Yep, warm and fuzzy, that Poppy. Warm and fuzzy.

7. I always thought of him as a shrill republican reagan-worshipping asshole.
The only thing warm and fuzzy about him is how he pegged an old lady with a golf ball after Clinton romped his ass in the polls, and then not really.

8. It is amazing how much is forgotten/ignored when they become
OLD...

Like the old letch and racist biggot, Strom Thurmond, Reagan, etc.

It makes one wonder how Hitler would have been viewed, had he lived to the ripe old age of 90 (no, I'm not drawing direct comparison, Freepers--chill)....

George Sr will ultimately be known for one of two things: a) the father of the man who successfully destroyed America or b) the father of the man who failed to destroy America. Some legacy. Pity him.

20. The Antichrist is NOT warm and fuzzy
From my post a few weeks ago:

This is an excerpt from a new book about American Presidents and their wives.

http://www.localnewsleader.com/brocktown/stories/index....

WASHINGTON - Presidents and their wives have been an amorous lot, their White House years coming at the pinnacle of lives entwined. The men pursued and loved these women as intensely as they clawed to power and unleashed armies.

==snip==

Another no-nonsense woman, Barbara Bush, got a treacly note from her husband, George, asking her to show more affection for the television cameras in the 1988 campaign, like their opponents, the Dukakises.

"Sweetsie," he began. "Please look at how Mike and Kitty do it. Try to be closer in more — well er romantic — on camera. I am practicing the loving look, and the creeping hand. Yours for better TV and more demonstrable affection. Your sweetie pie coo coo.

"Love ‘ya GB."

22. Was THAT who she was talking about? I thought she was referring to
Clinton. I only caught the warm and fuzzy part. NO, we don't all love the former preznit! At least not THAT one! Are Americans really so stupid they can't make the corruption connection between this presidency and the former Bush presidency and the Reagan presidency. The dots aren't really that hard to connect. Middle east, oil, greed, arms, training up new armies to fight against the old ones that they trained to begin with...

It is as if they have all swallowed a magic forgetfulness pill that erases the trail from their minds! I hate to say it but I'm tempted to try and get a hold of one of those pills so I can go on with my life and not worry anymore!

edited to add: I spent my 21st birthday in your fine city, wish I could remember the name of the bar/dance hall. it was like in an outdoor mall type place. its on the end of my tongue but my old burnt, bruised brain will probably remember tonight in my dreams. The first and only time I danced in public, and It was to ccr's proud mary. Ahh, those were the days.

38. Um, Babs! His Own People Ran Him Out Of D.C. On A Rail
That's what this is all about. The family resents the town, the media, the old guard republican establishment because they turned on 41. And, they played the radical right like a fiddle to get revenge.

Everybody doesn't love him, Babs. They didn't when he was president, and many people don't even remember him now.
The Professor
