Fla. Man Kills Roommate Over Toilet Paper
Fla. Man Charged With Killing Roommate Over Toilet Paper

The Associated Press

MOSS BLUFF, Fla. - A man accused of fatally beating his roommate with a sledgehammer and a claw hammer because there was no toilet paper in their home has been arrested.

Franklin Paul Crow, 56, was charged Monday with homicide in the death of Kenneth Matthews, 58, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Capt. Thomas Bibb said Crow initially denied his involvement, but confessed during questioning.

Crow told investigators that the men were fighting about the toilet paper over the weekend when Matthews pulled out a rifle. Crow said he then began beating Matthews with the sledgehammer and claw hammer, according to an affidavit.

Matthews was beaten so badly he had to be identified through his fingerprints, detectives said.

5. Not having any toilet paper when you really need it can mess
with your mind.

7. This might be worse than the FL man who killed his wife with a hammer...
because she wanted to cuddle after sex (he wanted to watch sports IIRC).

24. No - I think the anti-cuddler was worse
someone killing over wanting to watch sports instead of cuddling VS. someone killing because of lack of toilet paper.

There is no hardship in cuddling or not watching sports. While the hardship in lack of toilet paper doesn't come close to a reason for murder - it is something (like a speck of dust) as opposed to nothing. (I suppose someone might see lack of sports as some kind of hardship ? but I don't).

9. I'll bet he didn't realize it until he was on the toilet.
Not that I advocate killing people with claw and sledge hammers, just that I know how frustrating it is to be mid-crap when you realize there's no toilet paper, and it's your roommate's fault again.

11. He only uses shotguns. Besides, I think he was with Brit Hume this
weekend - after their tryst last week, Cheney decided he'd keep Hume's nose up his ass for a few more days.

13. Remember, in Florida, you're allowed to shoot someone if
you think they're threatening you.

In a sad way (in my opinion), this amuses me . . . the guy with the theoretically more lethal weapon was beaten by the guy with the weapon which required you to stand up and get in close to kill . . .

25. It certainly seems like
there could be a self defense issue. Though if he hadn't beaten the guy to a pulp - it would have helped his case.

19. We joke, but this kind of thing is apparently increasing.
I recently read an article that said murder in several cities is shooting back up again after having dropped down for many years -- and it's not drug or crime related, but people just snapping.

I think the stress of the times -- stagnant economy, high gas and heat costs, TERRA TERRA, etc. -- is really weighing on people.

It's weighing on me, and I have it quite good compared to many folks.

29. Is it just me or do you notice the stupidest/evil people are from Florida?
I know that there are many good people in the Sunshine State, but the dumbest and most heinous of people seem to come from there?
My apologies to those who must endure that.
