Mike Malloy just presented an ineresting theory...

That perhaps the furor over the UAE ports deal is all by design - to stir up anti-Islamic, anti-Arab sentiment and thus make an attack on Iran more palatable.
I've been wondering the same thing about the rage over the cartoons - perhaps by creating anti-Islamic sentiment in a region that was very opposed to the Iraq War, say Europe, and put a chill on massive opposition to an attack on Iran. Why is a cartoon that was published in September now causing such outrage?

Just a tinfoil thought...

The problem for them is the fact that it isn't really stirring up anti-Islamic, anti-Arab sentiment - it's stirring up anti-Bush sentiment! :evilgrin:

From the Rs in Congress for Rove and company putting the screws to them on the wiretapping issue ... They got bitchslapped and tucked their tales on that, but didn't like it ... SO, they are piling on here to send idiotboy and company a message ... Because they have NO credibility with anyone other than the freaks who are going to vote R regardless, they have NO use to those who are running for reelection this fall ... So, ONLY NOW, after five years of enabling the idiot so and the freaks around him in every possible way, Congress is NOW going to start providing some checks and balance ...

they can only be half anti.

It makes me sick. I can't bare to have any more kids blown to bits. There is no creature or species as evil as we are.

I hope Malloy is wrong. It's as plausible, however, as all the other theories we've heard today.

apart from them being kingships and religious authorities is the mega cities they are building on the backs of exploited immigrant labour, every time I see a new hotel go up in Dubai I think how many labourers were overworked and underpaid for that job so David Beckham could have a saunain his hotel room?
