George Will is on to something but not what he thinks...
Will recently did an opinion piece on "Liberalism and unhappiness" and this is my response:

What role does selfishness and ignorance play in the happiness of some? I would be happy too if I really believed that everyone was going to hell but me and those like me. If I cared for nothing but obtaining and consuming personal wealth while a disabled single mother (whom I believe is lazy without ever having met) can't buy her meds.

No thanks, I will give up some happiness to be real, to attempt humility, and to share in the labor not the self-adorned label of compassion. If you find yourself sipping your lemonade in a blissful heaven without a care in the world while your brothers toil, maybe your heaven is really the intoxication of mixing selfishness and self-righteousness together.

1. I was thinking nearly the same thing
I also like how George Will says that Republicans are happy because they're pessimists.

How can someone who doesn't let themselves feel, know if they're unhappy? When asked, of course they're going to say they're happy for some fear of acknowlodging weakness or failure. What a scientific survey.

2. I thought that was one of the most banal pieces of crap I have
ever read, I think Georgie is losing it.
