Warner said there's 200,000 in the security forces that can fight with "minimal US support"

NO. There was ONE BATTALION that could fight without our help, and just yesterday it was revealed that NO LONGER COULD THAT UNIT FIGHT ALONE!

THERE ARE NO STAND ALONE UNITS@

US says more Iraqi forces able to fight rebels

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The number of U.S.-trained Iraqi security battalions able to operate independently of American forces has dropped from one to zero, while the number able to take the lead in fighting insurgents with U.S. help has grown, Pentagon officials said on Friday.

The Pentagon, in a mandatory quarterly report to Congress on Iraq, said the number of Iraqi battalions, containing 700 to 800 soldiers, able to take the lead in combat against insurgents, albeit with help from U.S. forces, had grown from 36 three months ago to 53 now.

But Air Force Lt. Gen. Victor Renuart, director of strategic plans and policy for the military's Joint Staff, said the number of Iraqi battalions assessed as able to operate and sustain themselves with no U.S. help had gone from one to zero. Officials said that number last year had reached three.

2. Try this Senator Warner:
"We made a mistake. The invasion of Iraq was illegal and wrong headed. Lets learn from this and
reclaim if we can our nations gravely diminished position in the world."

Look it up Senator Warner. It's called "LEADERSHIP."

6. Warner blew his credibility
Edited on Sun Feb-26-06 11:35 AM by C_U_L8R
in defense of a lying administration.

Essentially... Warner's full of shit.
His talking points on the port "deal"
and the situation is Iraq were manipulative
fantasy talk and lies. Blah blah blah.

There's no reason to listen to this man.

7. Russert had 3 repubs and 0 dems on his show
Look for the media to continue not to have dems on their show. They are trying to help Bush and the repubs increase their polling numbers at all costs.

9. I can't stand Russert's chimpmunk fucking face.
I could barely watch the beginning of the show, and turned the channel before I could see him suck Arnold's dick.

14. Russart is a repuke boot-licker, but he would definitely be aware of the
such a damning report. What's worse, is that he would then let Warner (R-lying bastard) leave the false impression that there are hundreds of thousands of iraqis at the ready, who can fight without assistance from the US Armed Forces.

Yep, Russart knew Warner was lying .

Russart let him do it.

Russart's a pig.

11. I disagree. I just saw a little bit, but Russert laid it on the line.

This is in reference to the UAE port sale:

Warner kept talking about something like a "sepian" review, (I know it can't be "sepian" because it just means brown, like in the color of shit.), but, anyways, he said that there will be a special review in the 45 days that this sale has been delayed. And Russert told Warner, but how can the administration support this deal when the UAE is so tied to terrorist activity -- and here you should know that Russert itemized EVERYTHING we've been talking about on DU, including that an UAE member in the falcon party tipped off bin Laden so we would call off the strike. Anyway, that's when Warner said, BUT ALL THAT CAME OUT BEFORE THE "SEPIAN" REVIEW.

So that leads me to believe that if we keep hammering the points, it's going to be hard for them to justify this sale.
