Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels shovels more Republican BS...

As some of you might know, Indiana Govenor Mitch Daniels is now attempting to lease the I80/90 Toll Road that passes through the northern part of the state and is a major highway connecting into the Chicagoland area, to an outside company out of Arentina I believe. Today at a rally to ramp up support for the bill, Daniels was greeted by protestors who attempted to chant over him while he spoke. Obviously annoyed he said, "I guess the 99% of the people here who actually care about Indiana's future would like a chance to be heard." Later adding, "You are either for this bill or against our future." Does that sound familiar? Negotiate a bill on his own, tell the voters it's that way or the highway, and then say those that are against it are against Indiana's future. So pathetically obvious it makes me sick.

He said they were "leasing" the toll road for 75 years for $4 billion dollars, so they could build more roads and schools, etc..??? He is so concrete in his right-wing ideology that all taxes are bad and that if they need money for his state, it is better to sell off his state to foreigners than to ask the people of Indiana to pay a few more cents in taxes. He would let his mother die rather than raise a penny in taxes. Insane mofo....

that`s part of the federal governments strategic road system..hell you have to have a password to see the dam map on the governments website....4 billion for 75 years? that road will collect alot more than that over 75 years

For those that didn't know, Daniels worked in the Bush administration before becoming Gov. I forget what he did, but it had something to do w/ the budget, so we know he's good at balancing budgets right?? <sarcasm off>. Anyway I think one of the questions people are asking is how much will it raise over 75 yrs? He's never said, just that we need the money now or else. And I believe the Chicago skyway was leased to an outside company and the government was fine with it, plus do you think Bush would be against something his good buddy "My Man Mitch" is proposing?

this is so annoyingly typical of this RW baloney that they call an ideology. Even the Repubs I talk to are baffled as to why they can't get any real information on the pros and cons of this deal. All the Gov can say is, "Hey, we're getting paid." I honestly think that is all the RWers care about. They can't see past the money. It's sort of the same thing with the ports deal. "Well, they're PAYING us, so what's the big deal?" As long as they are getting money, who cares? Iraq is in the middle of an unstoppable civil war march and our soldiers continue to die, but the oil companies are making big profits, so what's the big deal? Greed in their defining characteristic.
