What Do You Do To Take A Break From Politics?
I read books on the American Northwest, Jack London books, and watch videos on Alaska. I Watch "Alone In The Wilderness," an awesome documentary on a man who built his own log cabin in Alaska in the 1960's. Very soothing, and a great escape. What is your escape from the shit?

32. I'm more or less that way.
I enjoy discussing and debating religion, but not with everyone or in every situation. The person has to be open to it. I'll sometimes beat down an in-you-face fundi, but generally don't waste the time.

Yes, I'm an atheist, but not the rabid kind that gets on the evening news.

34. Travel. I take one major trip a year (this year Russia and the Baltics
at the end of this month). But during the year leading up to my holiday, I love to research all the different spots I will be going to through books, internet, etc.

And my grandkids. :)

28. I stopped watching the Sunday talking heads shows
I would always get my blood pressure up on Sunday mornings, just watching and listening to the idiotic stuff the Rethugs say on these Sunday talking heads shows.

So now, for my sanity, I don't watch.

I will scan here on D.U. to see what some of the major talking points from the shows were, but I figure my Sunday mornings are my xscape from politics.

She's refreshingly apolitical but very smart. Her only political commentary: on walks she likes to gracefully lift a leg on bushes. ;)
