So. Who is assisting with our downfall?

Besides our administration, that is.

I was just remembering how the USSR occupied Afghanistan (although I forget WHY they did). Our administration at the time turned it into a little Cold War proxy battle by funding, training, and arming the Mujahadeen. The 10 year occupation pretty much bankrupted the Soviets, and I believe it was a factor in the break-up of the USSR.

Now here we are playing the part of the Russians, but this time in Iraq.

Who might be funding, training, and arming the insurgents/freedom fighters against us? And is it possible that we will end up following the USSR into extinction?

My guess is Russia, with a little help from the Chinese.

They are the proxy to really suck us in.

actively working for the US to repeat and follow the path of the USSR. I think that the wholesale devolution into the Robber-Barron State is what many of them are really working for. The USSR set the model in the eighties and nineties and this faction of the Neocons are emulating it. There doesn't seem to be any other rational solution to why obviously intelligent, well educated people would do the things that these cretins are doing. At least it is something to keep in mind when everything the US Fascist government does seems to be for our detriment as a nation...

But now we've got Dubya, so we don't need anyone else to play the game -- we can bring ourselves down.
