Bush "fell off bike while waving" according to new police documents...
(How did we all miss this story about the release of the police report!?!? Oh I see, NONE of the major U.S. Newspapers or Cable "news" channels picked it up! Wonder why?)

Bush "fell off bike while waving"

George W Bush had one hand off his handlebars when he came off his bicycle during last July's G8 summit, according to newly-published police documents. The US president suffered minor injuries when he collided with a police officer while out on his bike at the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire on July 6....

..."(The unit) was requested to cover the road junction on the Auchterarder to Braco Road as the President of the USA, George Bush, was cycling through," the report stated. (At) about 1800 hours the president approached the junction at speed on the bicycle. The road was damp at the time. "As the president passed the junction at speed he raised his left arm from the handlebars to wave to the police officers present while shouting 'Thanks, you guys, for coming'.

"As he did this he lost control of the cycle,
falling to the ground, causing both himself and his bicycle to strike (the officer) on the lower legs. (The officer) fell to the ground, striking his head. "The president continued along the ground for approximately five metres, causing himself a number of abrasions. The officers... then assisted both injured parties."

The report also confirms previous reports that the president telephoned the injured officer to ask how he was and to apologise for the accident. The officer was diagnosed with damage to ankle ligaments and the cause was officially recorded as being "hit by moving/falling object".

...Bush as a "...moving/falling object" was only obtained and published on SUNDAY, by "The Scotsman," which is the "new" part.

Or as this paper in New Zealand wrote:

Hands up, who can't ride a bike?

LONDON - The police report describes him as a "falling object" who lost control of his bicycle after being overwhelmed by the challenge of pedalling and waving at the same time.

So ends the mystery of how President George W. Bush collided into and injured a police officer while cycling at Gleneagles Hotel on the first day of the G8 summit.

The full explanation of how the President managed to career into a Strathclyde constable hinges on his attempt to wave and shout, "Thanks, you guys, for coming"....

5. No, but...
...interestingly enough, Bush is the only major player in this admin who's not a member of PNAC -- http://www.newamericancentury.org/statementofprinciples.htm.

Who's wagging the dog here?

6. I'm here to tell ya,
that it's the turning your head that makes you steer askew, not necessarily the one-hand-off factor.

I mean, I think that GWB is an idiot, a fraud, and a buffoon...and I also think that preening in addition to waving is just beyond his real physical threshold.

The Nation --

Today's question: What's more dangerous -- hunting with
Dick Cheney or bike riding with George Bush?

For background, we offer this report from Murdo MacLeod, the able political correspondent for Edinburgh's Scotland on Sunday newspaper:

US LEADER CRASHED BY TRYING TO 'PEDAL, WAVE AND SPEAK AT THE SAME TIME'

He may be the most powerful man in the world, but proof has emerged that President George Bush cannot ride a bike, wave and speak at the same time.

Scotland on Sunday has obtained remarkable details of one of the most memorably bizarre episodes of the Bush presidency: the day he crashed into a Scottish police constable while cycling in the grounds of Gleneagles Hotel.

The incident, which will do little to improve Bush's accident-prone reputation, began when he took to two wheels for a spot of early-evening exercise during last year's G8 summit at the Perthshire resort.

After a hard day's discussion with fellow world leaders, the president was looking for some relaxation. Instead, he ended up the subject of a police report in which the leader of the free world was described, in classic police language, as a "moving/falling object"....
