Something about how many individual hits or tune-ins per day or show, rather than taking into account whether or not the viewer actually stays on that channel.

If viewed by the people actually watching a whole program, CNN has way more viewers than FOX.

Could be that most of the people watching O'Leilly just tune in until the first train-wreck of the show and, not being able to stand it any longer, change channels.

I'd be real curious to see how many watch the Daily show.

I'm pretty sure the methods were pointed out by CNN vis a vis Fox, so the Daily Show and C-SPAN didn't come into their observation, inasmuch as CNN was targeting how FOX came up with it's numbers.

I think I've seen that the Dailly Show hit 2 million viewers some time last year.

The most common demo used is 25-54. Using this demo and the fact that he skews higher with older people O'Reilly is still way ahead in the ratings even though he is down from last year. A percentage is not real numbers. Top show don't continue to go up in ratings they usually level off or decline slightly. I don't want to be a party poopper but I still think we have a long way to go with Keith.

Hearing Hannity stumble and stutter through how the Dubai deal is "good" for American security finally broke through the malaise.
Soon, the hateradio/TV crowd will be left only with the fringe.

I would watch him once in a while to see what he was riled up about this time. Now, I watch TDS at that time, and sometimes The Colbert Report.

Although he is the Big Gorilla of cable news, O'reilly actually only hs a handful of the overall population watching.

A rerun of Bewitched probably trounces them all.

The only negative number in MSNBC's rows is Rita at -1% for the 25-40 demographic.
