Coast Guard Asked For 5 Billion Got 46 Million

Did you know that in 2002 the Coast Guard estimated that it would cost $5.4 billion over 10 years to implement critical security improvements to the nations’ ports as mandated by the Maritime Transportation Security Act.

Yet Bush asked for $46 million for fiscal year 2005, which was below pre-9/11 levels.

Has anyone in the media mentioned this, I don't think so. It is proof that Bush dont really care about port security, he just says he does.

1. Again, Kerry made that point as part of his port security issue since 2002

and increased the criticism in 2003 through 2004. MEDIA chose to ignore his port security warnings and his speeches in general.
