A senior counter-terrorism official says the U.S. still believes that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's organization carried out the attack on the Shiite Askariya shine in the mainly Sunni city of Samara on Feb. 22, in spite of the lack of a claim of responsibility.

"We cannot imagine anyone else with the motivation � starting a civil war � or the sophistication," the official said.

He added that one reason why Zarqawi may not have claimed responsibility is because Osama Bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri have told him to focus on U.S. forces and not Shiites and Kurds.

3. Well if you think about it...

if it isn't him then its someone else who deliberately did this to further destabilize the area and make a hard job practically impossible to carry out for the troops. That's my take on it anyway.

And then I see this...so, that TPM apparently broke on the Franke show before MSM got it.
