He stated he ate the food there of the people and my Son said they are not allowed to eat any of the food or drink there... I posted that but not wanting to offend if this was truely a Soldier, I said nothing more....


Edited to say My Son who is stationed in Tikrit said this for those who do not believe. I talk to my Son via AOL Messenger at least once a week so don't tell me any different.....

First, I wondered about the low post count. Apologies to the legitimate newbies around here, but it does color how one percieves your post content until you "prove yourself" not to be a troll. But, if he had really been away that long, he would have had a low count had he joined DU prior to deployment.

Next, I wondered why on earth anyone who just got back less than a week ago, with a new child he had never seen, would be busy posting on DU. I love ya all, but if those shoes were on my feet, I'd be getting back to ya'all later.

A little googling shows that he had been posting from Nov 04 - May 05 and was at one point a Donating Member. He then announced his deployment, and today it would seem announced his return.

Further research indicates the the site referred to in post #118 is not FR, but the other site to which I am not permitted to link. Anyone interested can PM me.

Having now read through that thread, I see no connection between that thread and The Sad Little Pony. It is my opinion, until I see evidence to the contrary, that this was an overreaction.

So I questioned him. His story was full of holes. The guy was painting the Iraq War with a pro-Bush administration brush.

He said that the Iraqi Army was happy about recent events because they finally have the chance to fight back against the Sunni. From this statement one could only conclude that the Iraq Army is a mainly Shia and Kurd force being imposed on the Sunni populations, and that the recent sectarian violence is viewed as an opportunity for a Shia crackdown! And this is supposed to show us how peachy everything is over there! :rofl:

serving in Iraq had said and it does makes sense. You can't eat the food there or drink anything there other than designated food and drink. These are orders... I did not have the balls to call him on it, good that you could....

but I questioned about him being in Fallujah and acting like everything was fine there instead of the city being decimated after our bombings. Then, he mentioned not seeing any evidence of WP on civilians just used for targets (I question that). And, I believe another soldier who witnessed what happened in Fallujah called it genocide. So, I didn't post to question him further--in case he was a recent return didn't want to push for now.

damn - I read his original post, and thanked him for his service, congratulated him on his son and asked how the archaeological sites were doing. I feel like an idiot.

I did those things even though I was suspicious of his sincerity in posting here. You really had to read through the thread to pick out all the rw talking points.

No one can provide evidence as to why he was banned - how do we know he wasn't being truthful? How do we know he was trolling? Why was the deployment post even made months ago? Was this an overreaction? As was earlier said - the other site is just watching this thread, no indication of being messed with.
