A challenge: define "bribery" and how it is at work in this society.
As a student, I found "bribery" a fascinating crime, particularly in this nation obsessed with capitalism.

I am curious about others' perspective on bribery, perpetually pursued by the most cunning of human assholes, and on WHY AND HOW bribes are so damned successful. Also, how do we STOP that bribery?

1. simple
The briber knows that people who are either greedy, or desperate will trade their integrity and honor for money or other favors.

3. Actually, you left out those who are desperate, cynical, ignorant or,...
,...vulnerable.

Perhaps, you intended to define those at the very top of the economic and influential ladder rather than the rest of us 95%? Perhaps?

2. I've been wondering
how eliminating lobbyists might change the entire way government conducts its decision-making. Like maybe legislatures would be forced to listen to ordinary citizens--you know, the ones who send them massive numbers of emails and snail mail and call them about issues. And how they might have to listen to testimony and do research to learn about issues instead of going on all-expense-paid golf trips and eating hundreds of dollars worth of food at a restaurant and then not "getting" to pay for it.

4. Well, how the hell did "lobbyists" get entitlements to big bucks?
When the fuck did that happen? Why the hell do they deserve to make millions? Who the hell are THEY?

CRONYISM S-U-C-K-S,...and does NOT advance the best of humanity, at all. Prostitution at the top is worse, far worse than prostitution for survival.

5. Legal definitions for bribery.

Back to the basics of "bribery". Are you being BRIBED when your boss requests a "fishing expedition" of wrong-doing by an "opponent"? Are you being BRIBED when your boss demands a "legal argument" for his breaking the law and violating his oath to protect OUR PEOPLES civil rights and liberties and freedoms, and you comply because it is your livelihood and career (say HITLER, or not)?
