So, what does "I take full responsiblity" mean?

Doesn't that carry some kind of expectation of atonement? "Because I failed here, I'm going to do this . . . " But we never get to that second part, do we? It just seems to fall into the Ally McBeal "bygones" category.

3. Good question, and to my mind a good followup would be,

"Does this mean that you're going to resign?"

Certainly with some of the things that Nixon said he took "full responsibility for" required resignation if he really meant it then, and I would think much the same logic applies now.

leading to the Iraq War, at least for Catholics, you have to say a minimum of 5 Our Fathers
and 5 Hail Marys after confession, what does he have to do to make amends, have Cheney
growl you are either with us or against us?
