Keith is so sweet!
Edited on Wed Mar-01-06 09:08 PM by Sparkle
I just caught the end of his interview with a retired black baseball player that should have been inducted into the hall of fame. I swear at the end of the interview, Keith was holding back tears. What a sweet guy.

3. I think Keith is nearly the ONLY old school TV journalist left.
Pretty sad.

6. But at least we have him.
I am very pleased to see that while he listened to what Buck O'Neil had to say about not being angry for him, it made him no less determined to get Buck into the Hall of Fame. Good for Keith!

After what we saw on video at the beginning of the show--a consummate liar--what a beautiful contrast to watch the show end with two men of integrity talking with each other.

8. I like Keith, but...

I love COUNTDOWN. But to call Keith an "old-school TV journalist" is maybe pushing it. He's actually on the cutting-edge and a leading player in the "advocacy journalism" game. But he does it well, no question about it. edit: He and Lou Dobbs are my 2 "can't miss" news shows.

4. And he still signed off by mentioning how many days since
Mission Accomplished was declared in Iraq.

What a great guy.

9. KO
I like Bill Maher, but I agree with some of the people here that he does get a bit behind on the news some times.

KO has NO problem with that, he is on top of the news like nobody i've seen.

I don't know how he does it. But I read it here, or on other blogs in the afternoon, and he has it
on his show that night.

I've always liked KO, since his days doing the sports for KTLA in L.A. He's always been well informed, with
a great sense of humor.

One of my all time faves of his is when he was doing the sports, the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition
came out, and he said he was going to show some of the swimsuits on his sports that night, and he showed the suits
with no models wearing them.

Pretty funny.

11. I was furious about Bush and Katrina when I started watching
Countdown this evening. I saw the now infamous video teleconference with Bush, Brown, Chertof and company. Then I saw Keith and Buck, and those two gentlemen have more honesty, humility and dignity in their little fingers than the entire Bush administration. They make me believe that there's some hope left in the United States.
God Bless them for restoring a bit of my faith in humankind.
