Brownie is demonstrably angry about being scapegoated on this.

Just think about it:

This administration is the tightest in history.

They released all of those embarrassing emails ("fashion god", etc.) with no other reason than to shine a light on him. They did not need to do this to get him to resign. The threat would have been sufficient.

They went from "heck of a job" to total abandonment in a heartbeat. They don't do that to "Company Men". Brownie was willing to play along until the bitter end and still was forced to walk the plank.

There had to be a gentleman's agreement amongst the MSM to sit on those tapes until someone went to AP and said, "If you don't want to go with it, I will go elsewhere".

I'm saying it was Brownie. If so, "Brownie, you did one hell of a job".

1. im thinking the same thing
My first thought was that it was Max Mayfield that spread the word, but now im inclined to think Brownie. From the Emails and what not brownie seemed Incredibly engaged (too bad his subordinates AND brownie Himself shrank under the weight when the thing hit.) Ill never think that brownie was qualified for the job, but from what i read the past few hours, he was clear about letting the president and others know this was big (he even predicted that the superdome would be a catastrophe within a catastrophe). He is seeing now the error of his ways in the few days after he was fired, he thought the WH would give him some cushy job, so he trashed Nagin and Blanco, now when he realized he is gretting screwed he comes down on the Prez. He could have just said "i knew what was going to happen and prepared but was just overwhelmed and the Prez didnt give me any support". Instead he just railed on the DEMS in Louisiana, which sucked, because i spent some time in MIssissippi on hurricane relief and they got it harder than NO.

5. Makes as much sense as anything else

I actually thought Brownie was a patsy from the get go. He had the FL/Jeb! machine and the election campaign behind him in 2004. Everything probably worked smoothly, and when he e-mailed or backberried, stuff got done immediately.

This past hurricane season, without an election in a swing state, not so much, and he's left holding the bag. I've always thought he was pissed, and that "brownmail" attempt and appearance before Congress made me even more certain. This fits right in.

"I don't buy the 'fog of war' defense," Brown told the AP in an interview Wednesday. "It was a fog of bureaucracy."

Ask what Brown can do for you! How about impeachment??? THAT would really be a heckuva job!

9. It's likely someone in the frying pan
and wanting to turn the tables. Brown fits the bill perfectly. May not have been him directly, but someone still loyal to him within FEMA.

10. I have been pondering this all day and
I seem to remember him testifying to the existance of these conference calls. Could it be that someone just stumbled on to this nudged by his testimony?
