Just wanted to share my classroom experience this evening.
Kind of knocked me out of my chair, figuratively speaking. I'm sitting in my humanities class, and we are discussing manifestos. One manifesto had a line in it, the gist of it was that freedom of speech is compromised when the press is run as a business.

Next thing I know, another student mentions Faux News and how they are a mouthpiece for the RNC. Then the lady sitting next to me looks over and says "You know that Bush was involved in 9/11 right?". I just shook my head and smiled a little. I guess my red district might be turning a little bit more blue.:-)

1. My mom has been ranting and raving all night about Bush and our other
family members who are wingnuts. She heard some soundbite with Bush saying no one could have predicted the damage from Katrina, and she has just been loosing it, yelling about how she is not really angry at Bush so much as the American for falling for all this shit and letting it happen.

And if you knew my mother - EVERYONE likes her and talks about what a great person she is - you would know this is pretty extreme.

2. Hint: You were in a place of learning.
Go to your local grocery and you will hear a different tune.

But I'm really glad your class is populated with folks like that!

3. You know that was the first thought that crossed my mind too.
I'm in a college, and I'm discussing literature, not many chances of Republicans being here.:-)

4. God love 'ya! I'm afraid you are right. Education & Republicans don't
mix.
