Yeah that's a possibility - certianly us (and Conservative Bigots) bitching so much about the ports going to foreigners does open the door to that. I mean, Halliburton is an "American" company.

2. Possible, but I don't think the hit Bush has taken from his
right wing base in his war on terra is something they never could ask fro deliberately.

They fall back in line immediately as soon as he changes tack (for argument's sake, say, back to what he had intended to do all along)
