quick opinion on something

...i've been thinkin' today (it doesn't happen very often!!) - i am a bit slow so apologies in advance. :crazy:

its a off the cuff question and there are people on this board far cleverer and experienced i could ever be....so pls excuse the rant (:rant:)and revert to another thread if not interested and i apologies for wasting your time. But if someone can let me know their thoughts on the following it may clarify my thinking and i would be very grateful :pals:


its related to social class.

now my question is am i...

lower class?
lower middle?
middle class?
upper middle?

i am definitely not upper class. i'm referring to social class as a mindset as opposed to income related (i know some people refer and prefer to label in income terms because it seems less snobby).

the thing is...i like a to be a contradiction because people like to label and pigeon hole you - in the above.

okay,...now i don't think my mindset is middle class - because i spend a lot of time trying to contradict it - because a lot of it is following the herd and not that i have find anything wrong with "middle class values" (i really do mean quote unquote here - in the loosest terms)- its just that i find a lot of it grating. I find the mindset a bit too sterile. Am i tryin' to be something that i am not? Or is there a new classification to describe someone like me?

It's not a 'mindset' thing...it's an economic one.

i agree with your distinction and your point. lower income/class, middle income/class etc....

guess that makes me *lower middle TO middle* - i need a raise!!

but this is all for economists - so that it is easier for them to draw their charts. Or even from a resource or purchasing power standpoint.

i was referring to class more from a abstract point of view - as i described a "mindset".

more of England's idea of class perhaps.

Most people seem to be a mix. Used to be test around in books on social things. I recall having to take them as a college student. Like they know college test hit middle class people, most do not live pay check to paycheck, most own home etc. It makes those test come out certain ways. It is sort of an interesting study but then it was my minor in college. How people live.
