If they get to keep nominating a (D) that has no chance to win, I say we start nominating a (R) that has no chance to win !

(R) John McCain, 2008 !!

Spread the word !

1. You read my mind...
Edited on Sat Mar-04-06 04:19 PM by FormerRushFan
I'm SO tired of Karl Rove and the corporate media having "chosen" Hillary for OUR nominee, it's time we nominated "Mr. Even Keel" himself. Bring it on!

on edit: spelling

2. How does McCain stand no chance of winning?
Edited on Sat Mar-04-06 04:20 PM by vi5
I don't like him. But it frightens me that I think he has a very good chance of winning. People like him. It's stupid and it's idiotic, but then again a large chunk of america is stupid and idiotic so there's absolutely no tangible, concrete reason why he wouldn't win.

The only reason I've heard anyone give for him not winning was his willingness to roll over for Bush and his cozying up to him. Does anyone really think that the bulk of american voters pay attention to stuff like that?

On edit: I agree about the HIllary part of the equation though. No chance.

8. Don't worry. . .
We can just bring up the same outrageous charges that Bush did against him in the South Carolina primary. . .and then question his leadership abilities when he wasn't able to defend his candidacy against swiftboating.

14. How do we keep the rethuglicans from hacking our primaries and
selecting a candidate they've been practicing to beat?

20. McCain's 'Straight Talk Express" is seen now as: 'The B.S. Express'!!
He is so utterly obsessed w/ being Preznit that he is a SHAPESHIFTER w/o peer! Have you seen the photos of him hugging & kissing evil * after the * Cabal slimed him viciously & for lifetimes in S. C. during McCains last run for Prez? He has thrown any ethics/morals he MAY have claimed down the sewer. Yes, talk him up-since most thinking, feeling humans have this scums #.

22. Key words in your post...
"most thinking, feeling humans".

Do you honestly think this describes the American electorate as a whole? If so, you're more optimistic than I am. Not only are most neither thinking nor feeling, they also have short attention spans and are totally and completely self involved.

4. Or you're suggesting the (R) with the best chance to win...
If McCain gets the nod, he'd be an electoral powerhouse.

It would be almost impossible to get to 270 against him. All of the sudden states like Illinois and California start to be competitive.

19. "Dems" won't back McCain, independents will...
..and that's all it takes. If you honestly think that a picture of him hugging Bush and a few dem endorsements are going to overcome the McCain media lovefest and his appeal to independents, then you may understand "strategy" but you clearly don't understand the average american idiot who falls for this crap.

7. Look, the second the DEMS back McCain, he is cursed.
There will be a huge "wtf?" factor from the neocons.

Remember, they are stupid.

17. No, it just reinforces his "bi-partisan" credentials
The media loves that, and it will undercut our chances in '08.

13. Being the GOP nominee in 2008 will be the kiss of death
If we can get either house of congress this year (and elect people with the guts to take on BushCo) there should be nothing left of the GOP but debris. IMHO our problem will be making sure we don't elect a "Dem" who'll simply continue the policies King George has put into place. It could easily happen, and we wouldn't have to have Joementum in the White House to end up with that result.

We could smear him. Oh wait, we're better than that, oops.

16. For some reason, the media seems to love him
I don't know why. I guess they think of him as a maverick.

McCain could easily be swiftboated, though I think just a campaign to educate the people (and the media) about what he's really like and what he has done would knock him down a few pegs

18. If he gets the nom, he would probably win
Everybody (but me) loves John McCain -- "independents" love him, non-deranged republicans love him, deranged democrats love him, and the media loves him.

21. Definitely.
DOn't forget--years of torture in Vietnam. There's no overestimating how much that endears him to Americans. Even disgruntled vets gotta respect that. I think he'd be a very tough beat.
