If they get to keep nominating a (D) that has no chance to win, I say we start nominating a (R) that has no chance to win !

I'm SO tired of Karl Rove and the corporate media having "chosen" Hillary for OUR nominee, it's time we nominated "Mr. Even Keel" himself. Bring it on!

I don't like him. But it frightens me that I think he has a very good chance of winning. People like him. It's stupid and it's idiotic, but then again a large chunk of america is stupid and idiotic so there's absolutely no tangible, concrete reason why he wouldn't win.

The only reason I've heard anyone give for him not winning was his willingness to roll over for Bush and his cozying up to him. Does anyone really think that the bulk of american voters pay attention to stuff like that?

On edit: I agree about the HIllary part of the equation though. No chance.

8. Don't worry. . .
We can just bring up the same outrageous charges that Bush did against him in the South Carolina primary. . .and then question his leadership abilities when he wasn't able to defend his candidacy against swiftboating.

Do you honestly think this describes the American electorate as a whole? If so, you're more optimistic than I am. Not only are most neither thinking nor feeling, they also have short attention spans and are totally and completely self involved.

If McCain gets the nod, he'd be an electoral powerhouse.

It would be almost impossible to get to 270 against him. All of the sudden states like Illinois and California start to be competitive.

If we can get either house of congress this year (and elect people with the guts to take on BushCo) there should be nothing left of the GOP but debris. IMHO our problem will be making sure we don't elect a "Dem" who'll simply continue the policies King George has put into place. It could easily happen, and we wouldn't have to have Joementum in the White House to end up with that result.

I don't know why. I guess they think of him as a maverick.

McCain could easily be swiftboated, though I think just a campaign to educate the people (and the media) about what he's really like and what he has done would knock him down a few pegs

DOn't forget--years of torture in Vietnam. There's no overestimating how much that endears him to Americans. Even disgruntled vets gotta respect that. I think he'd be a very tough beat.
