Most people at DU, no matter how far to the left, have a better claim on the moniker conservative than those pictured in the root post.

A conservative believes in a government of laws, not men. Anyone who says the President is above the law is not a conservative.

A conservative believes in small government.

A conservative believes in fiscal responsibility.

A conservative believes in individual liberties.

So just how are these people conservative? How can any Bush supporter justify saying that he is a conservative?

10. They aren't Conservative. Conservatives once had morals. These don't.

There are no "Conservatives," no principled opposition. There are Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Rove, crooks like DeLay, neocons like Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rice; Big Spenders for the Pioneers like Bush, Snow and Rumsfeld. There are no Conservatives, which is a philosophy with which I disagree, but at least one I recognize.
