I don't mean this in any kind of mean-spirited way, but I've often
wondered what kind of speech impediment Sen. Susan Collins has? Her speech always seems very 'forced' and labored. Is it just me?

5. That could be a possible answer....
I have been curious - I know there must be some kind of physical reason.

3. Perhaps it is just internal stress
from holding together the contradiction of being a Republican and a Woman?

"shaky" voice. Sometimes the shakiness is worse than at other times. I was watching her hearing on the Senate ethics committee and her voice wasn't very shaky which makes me think she controls it with medication? if that's possible. I like Susan. One of the FEW I do like.

6. That could be a very good reason as well. I would like to hear it
discussed by her if there is some reason for it. If it is Parkinson's, I wonder how she feels in regards to stem-cell research?

8. I have wondered if she has that vocal chord problem that Diane Rheims
and Robert Kennedy, Jr, have.

We have a friend who has that same problem and Collins speaks as he does.

Her speech pattern reminds me of Diane Rheims'.
