How many of you would be willing to send an e-mail to the House Judiciary
Committee asking them for investigations into the Administration's deceit that led this country into war?
First step down the road to impeachment/indictment.

5. Thanks...I'm in the letter writing mood tonight.
Here's what I just sent-

"Please count my voice as a concerned American who demands that you start doing your job and investigate this administration. Illegal spying on Americans, deriliction of duty, incompetence, criminal malfeasence...whatever. This administration has to go.

You spent 8 years and $70MM of taxpayer money investigating Bill Clinton over nothing. What's wrong with the Republican Party? You put your political welfare ahead of this country and it is killing us. Do your job...grow a backbone and stop being a doormat for this criminal administration."

It's really good therapy......

I'm feeling pretty negative about anything happening these days, but I keep at it in hopes that somewhere down the road the country wakes up.

I'll keep doing what I can even when I wonder if it does a damn bit of good. They've got to be stopped and I want to look in the mirror and say I did what I could.

My e-mail:

Respectfully, I am requesting that a hearing be held by the House Judiciary Committee delving into the following:

(1) The reasons the Bush administration sent our country to war in Iraq;

(2) Who authorized the Abu Ghraib torture & why is it still going on despite the McCain anti-torture bill which was passed overwhelmingly by the Senate;

(3) Why does the Bush administration insist on selling our American ports to an UAE company, despite the Bush administration's constant anti-terrorism rhetoric. Do we or do we not have reason to fear terrorism? Does it actually exist?

(4) Why does the Bush administration want to pass legislation making it a criminal act for journalists to report leaks? While this information is received by the journalists as second-hand information, would the "first-hand" party be held accountable as well? Who will be designated to determine what information is actually classified-worthy & what is not (i.e., information that is labeled "classified" to cover wrongdoing)? The fact that the Bush administration would like to criminalize leaks is ironic, given the status of the Plame leak case.

I'd like to hear the answers to these questions by the only ones who can provide them: The Bush administration.

Bill Clinton was investigated & impeached for far less -- a severe lack of personal judgement, perhaps, but he did not abuse his presidential duties.

I ask respectfully that hearings be held now on the Bush administration. It's long overdue.

10. Here's mine
Gentlemen and Lady Justices,

I write with concern for this once great country. President Clinton was dogged (and impeached) over nothing compared to the atrocities this Administration has visited upon this country and the world. Yet, to date, what few investigations have been launched, have been thwarted or downright ignored by this administration. Will Bush EVER get his "blue dress" moment, and, if he does, will you exonerate him or do the right thing?

I would like to see you all do your jobs and investigate numerous things and answer some questions. To name but a few:

1. Why were the bin Laden family members flown out of the US on Sept, 13, 2001, aided by American military personnel?

2. Why did you allow the selection of Bush in '00 . What was in it for you that was so much more valuable than the Constitution?

3. Why is Bush being allowed a pass on his lies to get us into Iraq?

4. Abu Ghraib and GITMO torturing practices are a no brainer.

5. When do you intend to stop the madness and give this country back to whom it belongs...WE, THE PEOPLE.

Respectfully,
XXXXXX

11. Here is what I wrote...............
...............

As a citizen of this country I was horrified to discover the evidence leading this country to war with Iraq was nothing but out and out lies. We now know for a fact that no one in Iraq had anything to do with the attacks of 9/11. In fact it is now my firm belief that the Bush Administration, at the very least, purposely allowed 9/11 to happen for their own financial gain. More to the point though, it is my belief, after all this time, that a money trail might just lead right back to the Bush Administration. I further believe this administration directly or indirectly paid the participants of 9/11 and then watched as the attacks of 9/11 were carried out. I would like these allegations proven or disproved by the House Judiciary. Please don't let this country down, our very survival as a country is at stake with this matter.

If I've said anything in violation of Homeland Security my address is included so I won't be hard to find. I truly hope I get the opportunity to blow this wide open in a court of law because maybe I can do what the House Judiciary has so far refused to do.

To the Judiciary Committee:
I am writing you as an American citizen, and as a mother of a United states Army soldier.I have been very displeased with events over the past few years.it is becoming more apparent that the Iraq war was initiated for political and financial gain.my son has served three tours in Iraq, and was injured his last time.He and his buddies are suffering severe PTSD due to this illegal war.Our debt is circling out of control. Our borders are not secure,a ploy I believe is intended to benefit supporters of this administration to provide cheap labor.Hundreds of thousands of jobs have been sent to other countries. Our Republican politicians are all under investigation for graft and bribery.I insist that your panel initiate hearings of impeachment. This must begin immediately, before our nation is destroyed.
Thank you for your time.

(this is in another post....the "C" word post here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x596321

Members of Congress who continue to support President Bush's justifications for breaking federal law in NSA wiretapping are to be held complicit in that violation of law.

Complicit - Associated with or participating in a questionable act or a crime.

Bush authorizing the NSA warrantless wiretapping by definition violates federal law. Congress persons who avoid doing their constitutionally charged duty are complicit in the act of committing a crime. Knowledge and failure to inform authorities about acts of crime can result in prosecution in aiding and abedding the act of a felony. Particularly those congress persons informed by the administration prior to the disclosure of the NSA spying program to the public.

Congressional oath:

I, Loyal Citizen of the Republic, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

Acts by congressional leadership that stonewall any investigation into the illegal activities of the President in authorizing NSA warrantless wiretapping should be considered as complicity in the act of such felony and a direct violation of the Oath of Congressional Office. The first order of loyalty for representatives in Congress is to defend the Constitution. No where are the protect the President and shield him from crimes committed while in office. Using that logic it is an easy to make a case in declaring numerous members of Congress complicit in the act of a felony.

So people now is the time to put the pressure on Congress for complicity in the act of a felony.

I have proof from James Sessenbrenner in the form a hand signed letter that states that Congress granted Bush the authority to bypass federal law in the pursuit of terror suspects and nothing was needed and Bush acted in full authority. This we know is blatantly false and was a simple stalling tactic by the GOP leadership. James Sennsenbrenner has done NOTHING to stop the continued violation of federal law by the Bush administration while having full knowledge that crimes have been committed.

Going into November complicity is the word. Who did the Administration inform about illegal NSA wiretapping and why did they not notify the authorities or the public?

20. Here's mine:
I am requesting that the House Judiciary Committee investigate the current administration for the following offenses:

1) Leading the country into an unnecessary war through lies and deceipt.

2) Outing a covert CIA agent because her husband did not supply the information they were hoping to receive.

3)Torture

4) A disregard of the FISA laws in performing wiretaps on American citizens.

5) Other offenses that we do not know about due to the extreme secrecy of this administration.

Theses offenses go beyond party politics. Should you continue to do nothing, you will go down in history as being complicit in all of these horrific actions.

I am a concerned citizen writing to you on behalf of the 2300 men and women of the US Armed Forces who have died, and the 15,000 wounded, many of whom can no longer type because they have no fingers.

Why did we go to war? The answer changes regularly. We know now that Iraq was not involved in 9/11, yet Mr. Bush continues to connect the two every time he makes a speech. If this is a War on Terror, why did we start it in a country that was no threat to us? Perhaps I should be writing on behalf of the tens of thousands of Iraqis who have lost their lives because of the President's decision.

I can't imagine that a smart man would make a mistake about which country to attack, so I can only surmise that he had ulterior motives as he rushed us into this war without a plan.

The American people hold YOU accountable to investigate. This is NOT a partisan issue. This is a human life issue. Please investigate this matter immediately, before one more life is lost for naught. And I urge you to begin hearings for the impeachment of the man who continues to destroy America and our constitution. It is your duty to investigate. I can't understand why a representative of this country would refuse to carry out the wishes of his or her constituents. Is it really so bad, where you are, that you are afraid to do what's right?

Perhaps you'd be better off resigning and letting someone else do the job you've neglected to do.

Sincerely,

me

25. my words.
Before the NSA starts editing our e-mails and preventing such communications on the basis that they may be treasonous, I dare send your committee this note. It is time that we review just how our country was sucked into such a pointless, self-destructive, costly and deadly invasion.
Every reason, every rationale, every argument given for invading Iraq was false. We now learn that the administration knew they were false when they fed them to you and the American people. At what cost? 2300 brave troops wasted, tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis killed. We have lost our reputation of freedom and fairness, and instead, we became the torturers and murderers. Only one group has profited from this disaster. Haliburton. Based on no bid contracts, no less.
It is time to investigate. Then, it will be time to impeach.
To save our country, we must stop the country's most dangerous enemy - the enemy from within. The entire Bush administration.
You members swore an oath to uphold our constitution. There has been little sign that you take your oaths seriously. Instead, you consider finding ways to make illegal domestic spying legal after the fact. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!

Stop and think, and remember your oaths! America can survive, but only if we remove the most dangerous, destructive and secretive administration in our history.
