So she was arrested in front of the UN for blocking a sidewalk. Big fucking deal.

You may think Cindy's 15 minutes of fame are up.

But you obviously aren't thinking about her.

You must be thinking about yourself.

She lost her son. Not her dad, mother etc. Her SON.

I lost my father 5 years ago and there isn't a single day that goes by that I don't think about him.

And he died of natural causes. Not for lies by Bush.

If you actually THINK about her situation. Not one minute goes by where she isn't thinking about her Son. Not one minute.

Think about that!

If you do you might realize that frankly it is amazing she hasn't gone all Jihad and strapped on a backpack for Bush's ass! But that would be immature. It would be stupid and childish to protest violence with more violence.

For those of you who think that her peaceful protest was immature. Who said the same about the peaceful civil rights protests in the 1960's? Cindy is not immature.

So you say, this is all for attention. I say this is so she can fucking live with herself.

I feel sorry for her. Leave her be. If I were President I would make laws giving all mothers of dead soldiers special rights. At the very least I would give them the same diplomatic immunity that the foreign political assholes in the UN enjoy.

Edited to add: I don't know that the President did it, but during WWII, mothers who lost sons in battle hung Gold Stars in their windows, and were treated with great respect and sympathy from those around them, as the nation recognized the sacrifice they made.

The President can do what ever he wants:
Break Laws,
or ,in effect, write new ones (e.g. the "new" rules governing the treatment of "illegal combatants".)

Civics 101. Presidents can introduce bills, as do the members of Congress. Congress can make laws only if they have the supermajority necessary to override a presidential veto. Otherwise, they have to rely on the president to MAKE BILLS BECOME LAW.

Oddly enough, I agree with you. I definitely don't think that the mother of a soldier killed in war should get any kind of preferential treatment. In case her detractors haven't noticed, the troops are still in Iraq and Bush is still in the White House. Of course she is trying to get attention.

I am not all that familiar with the "peace mom" but she is not a professional protestor, and the anti-Vietnam war protestors whom "organized," the protest to end the Vietnam war were professionals.

Cindy is doing what so many do not have the strength, courage, time, .....choose your excuse. Who cares if this women smiles as they arrest her. She is the voice that her son would want to be voiced. He gives her this strength. As long as Cindy is going, we will be praying for her safety. Bless you Cindy and all those who give you another day to show America what needs to be said.
