2. history is essentially 100% conspiracy theories
dismissing "conspiracy theories" is the pursuit of fools

examining them critically makes sense, but dismissing them out of hand is nuts.

does it ask "is the notion that wars are being fought over the currency used in petroleum trading nonsense ?" or does it ask whether there is a theory that there is a conspiracy to force dollars to continue to be used as that currency ?

I'll suggest that yes, there's a conspiracy to retain the dollar as the petroleum trading currency, so that yes, there is such a conspiracy theory, and no, it's not nonsense.
