Media calling it a "Republican Mutiny"...
Just heard that on CNN. If that is he story tomorrow, how will the Repubs spin that? Will they say that President Bush got bad advice but that he has been a very strong leader up to this point?

9. Exactly.
"George Bush, you say? Never heard of him.

Say, wasn't he George HW Bush's son who got caught in that Harken deal, did drugs and skipped out on TANG duty? In fact, yes, I think I have some documents here you've never seen before..."

10. the one even the local winos hold in utter contempt....
ask the harken oil co. investors, or the people of arlington texas
"It's hypocritical of bush, who built a new baseball stadium for the Texas Rangers through the condemnation of private property and a taxpayer subsidy of $135 million, to now preach the salience of private property ownership and holding the line on taxes" - a caller to a dallas radio station during bush's occupation of the gov's office, quoted on pg179 of 'fortunate son' by JH Hatfield

2. You call that a mutiny???
I think this whole thing stinks.... like bullshit.

I don't know exactly what they're up to... but i do know
that the spotlight has been taken off Iraq and all the
corruption scandals plaguing the repukes. And of course
now they can all crow at election time how they stood
up to the prezidunce......

no something really stinks here... like KKKarl

5. They're already saying poor George was failed by the people who
were supposed to vet this deal before approving it.

Said they let 'the President' down on this.

Not George's fault.

No mention of him blurting out threats of a veto like a petulant child.

7. Well, that would be most of his Cabinet ??
Wasn't the Secretary of the Treasury the head of CFIUS group and didn't the Sec of State and Homeland Security also approve it? Can any of them be trusted to work for us?

14. I swear, I do not get how his "my underlings screwed up" excuse works.
Somehow, his own narrative has him unaware, uninformed, badly advised, out of the loop, blindsided, and shocked by events he's supposed to be deeply involved with.

And somehow, that gross ignorance = "leadership."

8. It's all about saving the majority in the house now..
The media will spin the repubes as brave, gutsy, honorable, decent, thorough, patriotic, idealistic, ..etc..

The whole Dubai seal was ALL about bolstering their approval so they can hold the majority..

somewhere in the bowels of the WH, Karl decided that *² would have to take one for the team.. He's not running for anything, and his popularity is meaningless now, EXCEPT for the "shit-hit-the-fan-and-splattered-all-his-pals" effect.

The deal was days away from completion (after probably YEARS in the works).. The "leaking" of the details was deliberate and intended as red meat for the repubes to latch onto, so they could show their boldness and what good watchdogs they were..

Junior will slink off into oblivion, but those people have elections to win, and they needed a boost to distract from the shit-for-brains idiot they all claim to worship..

15. Yes, I think Bush will fall on his sword (well, a plastic one)
in order to keep enjoying his pretend world, where he is a bigger man than Dad and everyone has to kiss his ass.

He doesn't give a shit what people think, so if the GOP needs to stage a fake "divorce," it's fine for him, as long as he gets to ride in Air Force One and play with Saddam's pistol.

How low we have sunk with this utter fool in the White House.

16. And how should we counter that spin...
The truth is that the Repubs would still be silent if the Democrats did not make an issue of this. They could see their lives flashing before their eyes - at least their lives in the US Congress.. :)
