1. I still won't watch (No TV)
But he's gotta be better than Billy Crustal, er, that is to say, 'Crystal'.

8. How? Easy!
I got into a spat with my former cable company a few years back, my service was shut off, and I've been without ever since. I don't miss it a bit. In fact, it's kind of liberating to not be constantly subjected to the barrage of advertising that is American media culture. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed, I guarantee!

watch MSNBC. it's on whenever i'm home. in the evening to get away from reality there are some great shows. CSI, Law & Order, Medium. i'm 64 years old. i didn't care to much about it when i was young, but now it's my entertainment. haven't been inside a movie theatre since 1975. any movies we want to see are from HBO, SHO or Netflix.

as far as the ads, i tune out to them. it's automatic. unless it's something really catcy, i just mentally go somewhere else when there on.

welcome to DU.

3. Love Jon, but that show is a tough gig.
Billy Crystal and Johnny Carson did it well. I think some of the best talent has had a tough time of hosting the Academy Awards.

Hope he delivers up to his usual great standards.
