Bumperstickers I saw at daycare today. (big pic)
This is my first time posting a pic. Hope it works. I saw this car in the parking lot at daycare today and just HAD to have a photo. I hung around until the owner came out and congratulated her on her selection of stickers. I had a spare DU sticker in the car and handed it to her. I hadn't seen some of these stickers before. Here's the pic.

The ones that are hard to read say:

Many PRO-LIFERS only care about conception to birth
After that, you're on your own.

Dear God, Could you come get the Republicans soon?
All they do down here is lie and steal.

If you support Bush's war, shouldn't you be in
Iraq right now? (just asking...)

33. Put them on sheet magnets
You can buy the magnet sheets at your local office supply store. Then you can take off the bumper stickers when you're worried about your car.

Or better, get those card magnets that are made for business cards. The card magnets are much stronger and will stay on better. You have to use several on one bumper sticker plus trim some excess. I get my card magnets at Lowells.

I have a whole revolving set of bumper stickers I put on our car.

Magnets are the way to go. I get my sheet magnets at the local craft store. They come in about a 2' square, and you can cut them to size with scissors. They come with a "sticky" backing. You can print out anything you want on an inkjet printer on glossy photo paper, peel off the "sticky" backing on the magnetic base, stick your new bumper sticker on, and cut to size. I have many that I rotate depending on my mood and current events.

These are only a couple.

I'm going to copy the "Dear God" sticker.

39. what happens when it rains?
I love that idea, but I would think that even a little sprinkling of rain would ruin the photo paper. Of course, there's always the high-tech option of keeping an eye out for rain clouds, but what about a splash from a puddle?

This sounds like an awesome crafts project, and I really like the idea of being able to take stickers off when I visit certain parts of town, so thank you!

P.S. There was another thread the other day about window decals--the fixin's are at Staples and Office Depot (near the photo paper), and I noticed there's also paper to make regular (nonremovable) bumper stickers, at least at Office Depot.

46. Last Step:
(forgot to add.)
Put a layer of transparent tape over the printed side of the sticker.
This has been the most difficult part of the process.
The tape doesn't want to go on straight, and air bubbles happen no matter how careful you are.
You can puncture the air bubbles with a needle. Most errors in the taping are invisible from a few feet.

The stickers in the photo have endured a Minnesota Fall and Winter (sub zero), with daily exposure to salty brine and water.
The tape has prevented the ink from running. They wipe clean with a damp rag.
Unless the ink is protected, it WILL run.
The tape (2"3M) has been 100% successful (so far).

Cheers.

at any teachers' store and at most office supply stores. Of course, if you knew a teacher (like me :) ) you could have them laminated at a school for free.

... I thought it was one of the most breathtakingly positive personal aspirations I'd ever heard in my life. I was awestruck. I think anyone who aspires to be a GOOD person - moral, patient, loving, supportive - and who loves dogs has got to be blown away by that.

I still think so. I can think of no better aspiration.
