8 yrs of attacks on Sen. Clinton; when are we going to get McCain/Giuliani

Let's face it, Senator Clinton will likely be our frontrunner in 2008. We've experience 8+ years of attacks (from right and left) against her character, etc.

When are we going to start letting the public know what Giuliani & McCain are truly all about? We need to start getting the message out now. The public knows very little about them and their ratings are VERY high.

Giuliani is a tough guy, but that's it. He's as dumb as Bush (have you ever heard him do a serious interview?).

And McCain is just very confused. One day he's Centrist, next day he is "trusting Bush" on the Ports deal!

when i worked in the legal field you had to be pretty smart to get a job like that.

and the Dems grab a couple of moderates, I guess America is the better for it. I would still like to see a progressive liberal become President, but that is just me.

but 2008 is very far away. We still don't know what the political landscape of 2008 will look like.

This year, Hillary is up for re-election. Do you think it would be wise to carry democratic nominating petitions for Hillary's democratic opponents? I think that it would be a major progressive coup if NYS dems were actually allowed a choice in the primary.

Do you think that I should carry petitions for her opponents, or should I carry just for her (I am a committee person, so I should carry for her (she will be endorsed, she is the incumbent).

Hillary might have enough coattails to pull some congress people in to office with her (I think that Sweeney and Sue Kelly could be knocked out by Eliot Spitzer and Hillary Clinton focusing in on their congressional districts).

even though I don't like her votes, I know she is an imposing personality and brings attention to our side when she wants to.

I can't address the issue you ask about. I have no idea. If there is someone more progressive than she, I would say, yes, carry that petition too. Give people a choice. Isn't that what progressives are about? If she really is a politician she can work it from the outside too. Witness her husband. I'm sure he still pulls a string now and again. Elected office is not the only way to make things happen. Okay. I would say, give them a choice. I'm with you.

Pataki and Rudy are just moderate pukes, kinda like conservative dlc dems. I would prefer a Kucinich presidency, but Rudy or Pataki would be a welcome relief from the neo-cons.

got a snowball's chance in hell. what do you think of mark warner? right now i think he's very electible -- turned virginia around -- worked well with both parties and he's charming and smart. just lack of experience might hurt him. but who knows.:shrug:

Hillary was way ahead of him in the senate race until he withdrew with cancer. He was not real popular in NYC in the months before 9/11. His nasty split with his wife, the diallo case, etc. He was continually saying stuff that would p' off a lot of people.

now, terra might make Rudy a viable altenative to Hillary. He didn't run against her this year, because she would still wipe the floor with him, even with his America's Mayor 9-11 cache.

Maybe we'll get around to the real bad guys, sometime. Who knows?

When Bush was running against McCain for the nomination. The Bush campaign conducted a push poll. One of the questions was "Would it influence your vote if you knew John McCain had an illegitimate child with a black girl.?" Or something to that effect.

It amazes people how McCain cuddles up to Bush after Bush pulled stuff like this.
