As I lie here in bed recuperating from the injuries that I received from a federal agent and the NYPD in front of the US Mission to the UN (USUN) the other day, I have had time to reflect on the experience, the state of our union and its descent into a fascist state.

The plain-clothes police or US Dept of State Diplomatic Security agent with the cell phone is the one who assaulted Cindy Sheehan and Ann Wright in New York.

When the four of us. Missy Beattie, Rev. Patricia Ackerman, Medea Benjamin, and I, were arrested the other day, I was singled out for federal police brutality. The other three ladies were picked up, noth gingerly, though, and I was dragged across the pavement and treated very, very roughly—having both arms wrenched out from beneath me. I looked to my doctor as if I had been beaten. My daughter, Janey, asked if I had been resisting arrest, I told her if one considers going into a fetal position and saying, "Please don't hurt me anymore!" resisting, then I guess I was.

Why was I targeted for the abuse? Is it revenge for my work at exposing the lies of BushCo, of which John Bolton is a leading co-criminal? Or is it to discourage other activists from taking the same path I have taken: demanding an end to the illegal and immoral occupation of Iraq, and demanding that our freedoms be returned to us? I wish the Senate had the courage to stand up to the fascists in our government—or are the 90 who voted "Yea" to extend the Patriot Act also co-slitherers into fascism?

and she was definitely not laughting ~ I looked at all the pictures available and saw only one in which she seemed to be smiling, but when it was enlarged, she appeared to me to be 'grimacing' ~ in the others, she appeared to be very sad ~ distraught ~

Have you ever lost a child? I hope not, but I do know people who have, one in my family. 'Losing it' ~ well, I never thought they were 'losing it' when they sought answers as to why their child was taken away. People act in various different ways when this happens to them. I remember the father of one soldier trying to set his own truck on fire and to die himself, rather than live without his son. The police pulled him out of the truck.

Another mother who lost her son in this war, died 'of a broken heart' her family said ~ there is no rule as to how to behave when such a tragedy happens. Cindy wants the man who sent her son to war to simply explain what he means by 'noble cause' ~ his claim about Iraq! Or, she wants him to tell the truth, that there was no noble cause at all.

If anyone has lost it, it is Bush, Rumsfeld (now there's a man who has really lost it) Cheney, Wolfowitz et al. Why would the mother of a fallen soldier in a war that was completely unnecessary and based completely on lies, be accused of having 'lost it' no matter how she behaves? She lost her son ~ and she's trying to turn that loss into something positive and she's doing what we all should be doing ~ trying to prevent any more tragic deaths and if we were all to go out and join her, she might succeed in saving some lives ~

The police who injured her, 'lost it' ~ has Cindy hurt anyone?? Has she lied about anything? How has she 'lost it'? I don't get it ~ she seems to be very aware of what she is doing and why. I haven't seen her attack anyone physically, drop bombs on innocent civilians, torture anyone, steal tax payer dollars, yet she's the one who's 'losing it'????

see is a nervous laugh. Because I guarantee you she is scared.. She is just one step away from the taser or a kick to the side... The police don't try to subdue people, they take them down hard...

The real criminals are in office & most will never be punished. They treat her roughly because they fear her & the movement around her. Bush & co. don't like folks to point out that they have no cloths.

Strange they roughed her up but not Medea Benjamin and the others. And they didn't touch the women from Iraq.

Every damn time. You know what? She is one person doing what she can to make a difference. She doesn't represent you, she doesn't represent me, she wasn't elected to shit. She speaks for Cindy Sheehan. The fact that her voice has become part of the cultural zeitgeist, that the media follows her IS A GOOD THING, even if you don't think she should be here or there doing or saying this or that. Get your ass out there and put your ass on the line, and then get back to us about what should or should not be done.

One of our so-called crimes in front of USUN was "Obstructing Governmental Administration." I say "Hell, yes! Anyone with a conscience or any moral courage should be doing everything in his/her power to obstruct the administration of the Bush government. Only massive, peaceful, non-violent resistance to his calamitous policies will be able to stem the dreadful tide!

That is why we need to stand up to the neo-fascists and take our humanity back.

While we are still able. I will stand up to them again and again, I just hope next time that they drag me by my good arm!
