Where are the steam rollers? re: Tim McGraw Faith Hill
Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 07:44 PM by RGBolen
After hearing about Tim McGraw and Faith Hill standing up for Louisiana and Mississippi and speaking out against B*sh, I listened to some country radio stations. I was shocked to find out they are not destroying their CD's or calling for their public hanging. I guess if the Dixie Chicks had a male standing with them their speaking out against B*sh would have been OK as well.

1. Did anyone else see "McGraw/Hill" and think this was about
publishers of textbooks?

Or was it just me?

7. It wasn't just you.
I found myself wondering if they had moved their HQ to NOLA.

9. Good. I feel better.
Still don't know if it means I'm out of touch or really in the know.

The important thing is I'm not alone.

8. I'm pleased but not surprised, since I saw them at the 'Global-
Warming' concert recently. Also in regard to Country musicians in general--I heard on the Laura Flanders'show, that some surprising singers are really portraying them-selves as democrats these days--most stunning among them--Toby Keith.
Just wanted to mention that...don't know if it's really so...and to add that I'm glad to listen to it again -now and then!
:)

10. don't want this thread to be about Keith but

he's always been a conservative Democrat. He's to the right of many but he's not a republican and does not like being called one.

It's an unfortunate phenomenon that people are punished for pointing out the truth "too soon", or before people are ready to accept it.

I'm pleased as hell that McGraw and Hill have spoken out. You can't get much more mainstream than them, and it will have an effect.

15. Not only that, they said it overseas,
in Europe somewhere. RWers don't take kindly to that sort of thing.
