The Republican Leadership Brazenly Displays Its Racism

Shame on Libby Dole, Bill Frist and other members of the republican Senate Leadership. The Web campaign they're running against Rep. Harold Ford is blatantly racist. It refers to Ford as "Fancy Ford", and paints a picture of him, with both words and images, as a man living a certain lifestyle. And what might that lifestyle be? Google "fancy man" and you'll find that its a colloquialism for a pimp. The website makes mention of limousines, flashy clothes and the high life. You can't get much more blatant than this.

No matter what you think of Harold Ford, we should all be outraged by this. It truly is mind boggling. Although I don't expect anything but disgusting from the republicans, I'm shocked that they didn't even attempt to disguise their use of racism, or use it in a whisper campaign. It's in your face racism. .

This needs to be exposed.

I love Harry Ford, even if he tends right at times. He's a young single guy, and he's entitled to whatever "fancy" living he's doing. I don't know that it's racist (I suppose I'd agree) but at the very least it's stupid to frame a smear campaign like that.
