Claude Allen was Bush's White House "Coordinator" for Katrina Response!
Josh Marshall has it documented:

Ahh, yes, Claude Allen flashback/update ...

In the early days of the Katrina Debacle, the White House response was being coordinated by none other than Claude Allen.

Logical choice, of course: get your guy in charge of abstinence education and school prayer policy and banning abortion to run disaster management.

Press Gaggle with Scott McClellan
Aboard Air Force One
En Route Andrews Air Force Base, MD

11:09 A.M. EDT

MR. McCLELLAN: All right, let me give you an update on the President's morning. The President did participate in a video conference with federal officials. And let me tell you who all was on the video conference call. The President was on the video conference, obviously, here from Crawford. Joining him from Crawford were Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove and Deputy National Security Advisor J.D. Crouch, and Secretary Card was on the video conference from Maine. He is returning back to D.C. today, as well.

The Vice President was on from Wyoming. Back in Washington, at the White House, you had Secretary Chertoff and Deputy Secretary Michael Jackson. You also had Homeland Security Advisor Fran Townsend, Claude Allen, who is overseeing the White House Task Force, Dan Bartlett, and other staff was on, as well, back in Washington. And then in the region, you had Mike Brown, Under Secretary Mike Brown, participating in the video conference.

1. Ironic
given the rw tactic to paint those stuck in the city, who were not white, as "looters"... don't you think?

2. Good catch Salin...
what if he was responsible for that disinformation? Given his views he was no friend to African-Americans and might have intentionally gone out of his way to hamper efforts. Josh thinks much more will come out. But, given how close he was to Bush and Rove, I wonder if they won't shut it down.

3. Excellent point!! A looter in the WH!! What a shock! I suppose you could
call them referring to the hungry victims as looters, projection???

How long more will it be before these thieves are thrown out of office?

I can't wait for Scotty to explain all these indictments?

With Brownie, Chertoff and Allen in charge of 'security' ~ we have NOTHING at all to worry about!! What a disaster this whole administration has been ~

9. CNN Headline New reported it along with pix of Chimp & Allen walking
side by side. They mentions he was nominated for the Circuit Court of Appeals but the Dems BLOCKED him. (good plug for Dems) Then they showed clip of Bush saying "something must have gone wrong in his life." :D Yeah...what went wrong was that
he's crooked like the rest of them...but got caught.

12. So many pictures to scrub, so little time ~
I wonder if the WH has just given up trying to hide pics of Bush with all his criminal appointees? It's going to be a monumental task ~

Allen worked in the Reagan administration also ~ I'd consider that reason enough to have been suspicious of him.

'Something went wrong in his life' ~

How about Abramoff?
Kidan?
Cunningham?
Scanlon?
Libby?
Tom Delay?
Gov. Rowland?
Gov. Ryan?
Larry Franklin?
Gov. Taft?
Noe?

To name but a few of the indicted and convicted Republicans who supported or worked directly for this administration and not even considering the many more expected indictments.

Funny how Bush didn't have this liberal attitude when he was Governor of Texas ~ he's going to be a virtual bleeding heart liberal trying to figure out what went wrong with all these Republican supporters and employees of his by the time this is all over ~ freepers must be amazed at how soft he is on crime these days!
