Poll question: Are We Headed for Another "Great Depression"?
I see signs we as a Nation are in big trouble financially. And when I say "we as a country", I mean EVERYONE or at least the majority of the country. I could care less about that TOP 1-3 PERCENT.

5. Recession yes, Depression no ... for now
That said, Bush isn't done yet screwing things up, and he could take us into either a world war or a depression, or both.

3. Can my depression get any greater?
Funny, I became disabled from depression just about the time * took office. So why would I think the economy would do any better.

8. The depression will only get worse. My
friends have started calling me The Doomsday Voice. There may be a silver lining out there somewhere but I have yet to see it. This administration is still in charge and probably will get their way until we do hit recession. In all my years I have never been so pessimistic or cynical.

4. PNAC is counting on it. It's part of the plan.
Massive social change is often painful. They acknowledge it and embrace it as an inevitable part of their stragegy.

That is why BushCO is so hell-bent on tax cuts, and will never, ever reverse them. They are hording cash for the meltdown which THEY HAVE SET IN MOTION. The sooner we realize this, and get responsible adults back in charge, the sooner we can mitigate the effects of their selfish lunacy.

From $8.2Trillion. Our credit line has reached it's limit...again.

11. And the Fed has stopped releasing the money supply figures
Can you say "wheelbarrows full of cash just to buy bread?"

The Bush's long for the good ol' days when Grampy Prescott was funding the Nazis.

10. I voted yes...
but I don't think it will be exactly like the one in the 1930's. Might actually be worse. At any rate, I do believe that we are headed toward a major economic upheaval, the likes of which will effect our entire society.

12. I'm goin' all Survivalist!
We live in a house that has a lead lined "bomb shelter" built into it complete with toilet and sink (doesn't have a door, though :wtf:). I am recovering from a recent surgery, but the next thing on my list is to fit it out with food, water, camp stove, etc. - In light of gas prices (my grocery bill has gone up about 20% in the past 6 months), bird flu, the general economy... Oh, I could go on and on... Seems like the reality based thing to do.

13. we are already in the "recession" part
chicanery in calculating and reporting economic statistics masks it, but what used to be known as GDP is already in decline.

The bush "recovery" was in effect the economy on steroids. Now we've reached the part where the testicles wither.

15. Yes. Some economic indicator (housing? GDP?) will cause panic.
Or if China and/or Dubai call in their debt.

"Great Depression II"--coming soon to an economy near you!
