The young staffer (i would guess repug) sat behind Feingold giving him the finger @ the end of his
speech. He should not have a job in the AM. He is at least in college and well old enough to know
better this was no accident. So make those e mails fly and get those phones humming. Even better
if your are getting in touch w/ republicans ..... Family Values.

2. I Am Sitting Here Reading This With My Hand In The Same Position
I'm leaning on the desk reading the monitor and my right hand is in exactly the same postion. I do it all the time.

4. I've never done that and just tried it. Not comfy.
That's not saying it isn't somebody else's habit, though. If I did this on a regular basis I'd make sure not to do it when being filmed.

P.S.

I'm a teacher and would call a student on this in a heartbeat.

6. The artificiality of that gesture is clear in the video

He turns his head with the finger firmly in place. He is not rubbing his temple.

I mention his temple because I habitually use the same finger to massage my temples for relaxation, but with the hand open. It wouldn't work well with the hand closed. (Though I think that Harkonnen does it that way in the Dune miniseries. That's it. The kid simply adopted one of the mannerisms from the film. It's hero worship.)

On edit: I'm willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He's leaning on the armrest and pivoting on his elbow. I just tried it a couple of times and it seems to be a natural resting position for the hand.

3. This is the disrespect of the Senate that the Thugs have nursed.
It's disgusting.

5. I'm not convinced.
I was in a staff meeting recently and was unconsciously scratching my forehead with my middle finger. My friend kicked me under the table because she thought I was giving the finger to the person speaking at the time. I wasn't.
