Lewis Scooter Libby accepts pay-off from D.C. mobsters:
Scooter Finds Fellowship at the Hudson Institute

By Al Kamen

Friday, January 6, 2006; Page A17

I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby , chief of staff and national security adviser to Vice President Cheney until that indictment unpleasantness a few months ago, has found a new perch as he awaits trial.

---------snip---------

We're told that his salary is on par with the going rate for the deep thinkers -- presumably at least as much as his $160,000 White House gig -- and that, if he wants, he'll probably still have time to do some consulting or work on a second novel.

2. Nice to see he landed on his feet.
Did anyone have any doubts that a cushy job awaited "poor" Scooter.

If he ever actually gets to trial, and is convicted, he'll spend a couple of months at Club Fed before Chimp grants him clemency as a parting gesture before he boards AF 1 for the last time on that trip to the Crawford Ranch.

Scooter will occupy a prime post at some GOP thinktank (he doesn't have the personality for talk radio like his fellow convicts G. Gordon Liddy or Oliver North) for the rest of his life, occaisionally tapping the secret account in the Cayman Islands that has been set up for his benefit.

He will write another novel.

4. He's found home...Richard Perle and Conrad Black listed as trustees
It's all worked out for the better. Now he's free to devote a lot more time to the Iran project. :sarcasm:
