1. Fuck no, I'd vote for the Dem and the Dem would win
I hope there's a third party conservative in the race, that would rock.

4. Why would any of us vote for a ReTHUG?
Shit, kid, you may as well posted "I LUVS me some John McCain!"

And who is he "popular" with? I'm very curious about that.

BTW, welcome aboard!

16. The feeling I get from Rudy is that he has a big enough Ego
to think he could Run with-out the help of the Party and I think he is also worried about the Christan vote but believes he is popular with southerners so he might toy with the independent idea

50. Well, maybe the flighty "Swing Voters" will vote for him, then.
Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 07:23 AM by BiggJawn
Maybe he can pick Bernie "Zap!" Kerik for a running mate?

But you know, I really don't give a rat's ass about 2008. Hillary, McCain, Kerry, Dole, Rudi, all that NOISE right now.

The thing we should be concentrating on RIGHT now is this impending mid-term House election this November. If we take back the House and maybe the Senate, too, it's a Brand New Day. If we fail to pry the Legislative out of the hands of the RW ReTHUGs, then why worry about '08? Even if we get a Dem in the OO, they won't be able to do anything except host state dinners and roll Easter eggs.

Take back the HOUSE, and the Oval Orifice will take care of itself.

http://screwedbyRudy.blogspot.com
and that's just my beef. Rudy is popular off the backs of dead people. Ask him "why did you sell off crime scene evidence so quickly?" that WTC steel would have indicted many high profile people including King George the Imbecile.
No Rudy is not presidential material, sorry..jmho

11. perhaps
but I've heard that they are pretty close and with Rudy and McCain's support among Indies he could make ground up in the NE and perhaps carry a few states that may be Democratic leaning. The south is so Republican that most of those states would vote Republican anyway--but it depends on who the Dems nominate. If someone like Warner is nominated or even Clark we might gain some ground in the south if it's someone like Hillary we would probably lose most southern states again.

12. i forgot about this story as well---

3. Firefighters lost their lives on 9/11 due to faulty equipment, such as radios. These were the same radios that failed in 1993. Who was in charge of buying and testing equipment for the firefighters? During your administration were there any requests by either the NYPD or FDNY to increase budget appropriations for emergency apparatus such as radios?

http://911independentcommission.org/giuliani31804.html

a lot of 9/11 families will bring this up imo and hold him responsible for those radios.

10. Kill off his christian base by rehashing his nasty divorce
so he could continue boinking the woman he cheated on his wife with.

family values my ass. Guiliani is a joke. his only high point was looking good on TV post-9/11.
Remember he floated the trial baloon of suspending his leaving office because 9/11 changed everything?

he is a Bush in cheap clothing.

The only thing he's got going for him is the same thing the Bush ran on. His 9/11 PR. And we've seen how bad things have gotten with Bush. Does anyone seriously think Guiliani would be an improvment? Opportunists all of them!

22. As I recall, for a time Rudy lived with a gay couple after his split with
his wife. The Wingers frequently overlook Republican adultery when they tout their "family values" banner, but Rudy actually living with a gay couple is another matter entirely. Heads would spin.

My Sister lives in New York and said that NY was ran like a police state when he was in office. I'm a yellow dog but my neighbors are not nor are my co-workers They are not happy with the current republican party. but I don't see them voting Democratic however a Republican going independent could get a lot of votes.

39. Rudy has a lot of 9-11 cache across the USA
so he may very well do the indy thing. Especially if Jeb Bush runs with Condi, and McCain and Rudy run as indies. I think that McCain + Rudy would be the best ticket for the GOP to run. I think that Gore is our bet, forcasting the landscape out in to 2008. Peace and low stress, mdmc

40. I'm concerned about Giuliani and here is why....
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 09:34 PM by hlthe2b
No, the RW fundies would never vote for him--enough said

BUT... and this is a big BUT... By late 2007, I have a feeling that there will be such a groundswell for COMPETENCE (and like it or not, Giuliani has a largely undeserved, but strong perception of competence) that he could pull fiscal conservatives, libertarian types and just about every one from the right side of the aisle except the "values" voters. Split the Repug vote and clear sailing for us, right?

Well, given the continued miscues from our DEMS, we will likely have to face up to a belligerent media that wants to focus on DEMS as spineless (not without some cause, mind you)) and unwilling to take a stand If they effectively push the point, we could have many disillusioned Dems and independents taking a second look at Giuliani and quite possibly giving him the margin he would need.

So, yeah. I'm damned concerned about Giuliani. Admittedly though, between him and McCain, I'd probably take Giuliani myself...

41. I disagree about the competence
His 911 reaction was easy. He had the World behind him.

And his personal life was a mess. His wife has some terrible things to say about their marriage and like it or not these things matter, ask the big dog about personal life and politics.

His ties with the mafia are also a terrible burden hes carrying.

47. Yup.. he has baggage and his rep for "competence" is
largely manufactured. However, it is a commonly held perception--that he "led" NYC through its most horrendous hour... While I doubt many, if any DUers retain that perception, among the less politically aware and informed, he probably retains the advantage.
