If Sharon Has Died.......They

Will probably delay an official announcement until they can get the Israel military deployed just in in case the Palestinians decide to take advantage of the morning process.....Also they probably want to get out some pre announcements to Heads of States...

1. it seems likely that this has happened since they are reporting

5. I was wondering if he died...
would they keep him "alive but in a coma" until after the election? Sort of a Soviet style thing (or sorta like
the Kevin Kline movie "Dave").

7. Not the election, but possibly the Sabbath
Edited on Fri Jan-06-06 11:08 AM by LiberalEsto
I'm not sure what time it is in Israel now, but it's probably Friday evening and the Sabbath has either started or is about to start. Since Orthodox Jews are not supposed to work during the Sabbath, there might be a slight chance they'd keep him alive until sunset on Saturday, when the Sabbath ends.

My husband's sister is a convert to Orthodox Judaism, and they're not allowed to flip a light switch or open an umbrella during the Sabbath, because those would be considered work. God rested on the 7th day, and they take resting on the 7th day very seriously.

I also believe (but am not sure) that people of the Jewish faith have to be buried within 24 hours of passing away.

So if anything, it may be more for religious reasons than for political ones.

6. IS THAT PATHETIC OR WHAT?!
The Palestinians will take advantage of the mourning process? I wonder how many times the Israelis have done that to the Palestinians? Were the Palestinians attacked during their mourning of Yasser Arafat? Was their grief respected? OR NOT?
