9. Should give some more details...
In Spader's courtroom remarks, he said (paraphrasing) "I thought when people saw what our government was doing at Abu Ghraib, the American people would wake up and demand someone be held accountable. But they didn't. Then it was revealed out goverment was practicing rendition, the act of kidnapping people and shipping them to foreign countries to be tortured, and I was sure the American people would rise up. But they didn't. By their silence, the American people have told the administration they do, in fact, accept what is being done by our government."

It was obviously much more eloquent, and featured many more examples of the American people not caring. It was an amazing bit of teevee.

Wow. That's Far Better Then I Even Thought! I Almost Wish It Was
a politician on CSPAN instead of an actor on a tv show, but regardless that is definitely one hell of an impactful dialogue! Kudos to them!

4. This is the best Boston Legal that I've seen this season
I read somewhere that the network told David Kelley he couldn't mention Fox News outright, but he manages to get his slams in anyway. :-)

7. I loved it!
Best closing speech yet on this show.

David E. Kelley is "sticking it" (heh) to BushCo. big time. This show is such a breath of fresh air each week. Boston Legal and C-Span, that's all I need!

18. Wasn't it lovely?
"What I'm most sick and tired of is how every time somebody disagrees with how the government is running things, he or she is labeled UnAmerican... And speech in this country is free, you hack. Free for me, free for you, free for Melissa Hughes to stand up to her government and say stick it... I object to government abusing its power to squash the constitutional freedoms of it's citizenry and God forbid anyone challenge it, they're smeared as being a heretic."

15. Boston Legal is my favorite show. I never miss it,
except for tonight. Thank goodness I DVR'd it. I love James Spader. David E. Kelley is my hero. Do you think we could get him to run for something? At least then we might have someone who tells it like it is.

34. Ditto! It's my favorite too, and I love Spader. Tonight's show was
awesome and quite courageous, although it's appalling to me that I have to think about 'courage' when it comes to a damn TV show. That tells one how sick our government is.

I don't understand why Shatner get nominated, and win best actor, while Spader gets the supporting actor. He certainly has more airtime

24. Vid-e-o-ta-pe?
Whats that? Haha just kidding :). Well, one thing you cant do with videotape is run your digital recording through a program to parse out all the boring commericals to chop down that 1 hour program into about 42 minutes. Then I go waste that 18 minutes I saved surfing the internets!

was a very nice, subtle commentary on life in America these days. ;) Using a position of authority and ridiculous language to try to stop the message, most poetic!

something like that from Shatner's character.

PRICELESS!
