Jessica Simpson snubs Bush
It is okay for Bush to snub someone (Cindy Sheehan). But, when Bush is getting the snub, all must be wrong with the world.

<<snips>>
Concerned about politicizing her favorite charity, singer-actress Jessica Simpson Wednesday turned down a invitation to meet with President Bush, a snub that left Republicans dismayed.

1. Not that I like her or anything, but good for her.
Operation Smile is a client of mine and they are VERY non political for obvious reasons.

2. It'll be interesting to see if this is more than just a one-time event
Simpson carried a lot of water for Nero over the past few years. The Repukes may grumble, but it's going to take more than a single "no, thank you" to undo the damage she helped spread.

4. But still, the headline will be entering into the consciousness of
all Americans whose primary news source is Entertainment Tonight. I doubt that Jessica will ever make any public anti-Bush statements, but for most of today and maybe a little longer, some of the apathetic masses will hear that a popular celebrity declined to meet with President Bush. It can't hurt.

3. Safer For Jessica Than For the Dixie Chicks
At the risk of sounding cynical, it's safer for Jessica Simpson to snub Buckaroo Bush than it was for the Dixie Chicks to admit their embarrassment about him, especially now that Buckaroo's poll ratings are drifting down towards 30 percent approval.

5. VERY good point you just made
That's right - Natalie spoke up about Nero just before we invaded Iraq, back when the nation was solidly behind him (if one is to believe the MSM cabal).
