1. Feingold got it into committee where it will be discussed - he's winning

already because Repubs wanted to rush a vote before any discussion of the actual issue.

It's good for senators to come on slowly at this point to drag out debate. Feingold said in his Ed Schultz interview yesterday that it's in committee and moving along.

It's Repubs who want senators to declare now where they stand.

6. Harkin, Boxer made support statements, Kerry's office said he supports.

but his hands are full leading ANWR battle now - he'll issue a statement supporting censure soon.

Looks like Menendez, too.

Before he wanted it the day Feingold read it on the floor, that's why Feingold split immediately after he read it.

Dems need to keep it in committee a bit while they get some public discussion of the actual ISSUE going. Hard to do with media putting up the false impression that the people are FOR spying to keep them safe.
