2. Now this makes sense
Willie has been for the farmers for a long time. What he is doing is promoting a product that will help them and help us. Willie Nelson rocks!

4. biodiesel is awesome
the way of the future. Truckers seem to love it- better mileage, better on the engine.

and it smells like cooking french fries

And you can make biodiesel out of everything! We can put farmers back to work.

Tell me again why we went to Iraq? Can't halliburton rip us off making biodiesel at home and at least no one would have to die?

5. We converted all of our school buses to biodiesel.
We got a state grant to convert all of our buses to biodiesel last year. Yeah for us!

15. Now if we could just get our public to realize what . . .
a big deal it is. I put out a newsletter to let people know, but most people have no idea what it means. It's really frustrating.

6. Carl's Corner.. what a joint, Anyone here been there?
I have.

My cousin has Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's dancing frog statues that used to be on top of the building.

Wish I had a pic of them to post.

10. Yep
First (after Carl's went under) they were on a club in Austin and then went to Dallas.

My cousin's wife wouldn't let him take them to their Fredericksburg house.

11. but I thought
Bob Wade sculpted those. I once did a shoot with those frogs. Wish I had the pics. There was even a lady frog. Shannon Wynne fought hard to keep those up there. The city tired to make him take them down because they considered them advertising. Club later closed. The frogs left. Bummer.

13. You are right. I can never remember Wade's name...
I am so old I ALWAYS get him mixed up with Ed Roth.

My cousin had his barn de-listed from the National Historic Registry so he could put those frogs on it.

His wife is still pissed.

They were on loan to tango. That's when they went to Fredericksburg.

My cousin also has a car Wade designed.

8. I use it in my Passat.

It drives great and the engine runs quieter, but it doesn't smell like French Fries. :)

It's 20% bio and 80% number 2 diesel.

Only drawback is that I have to drive to south Austin to fill up. It's kind of hard for me to get to, but I think it's important to do what I can.

Here's the url: www.wnbiodiesel.com

Bonus: Willie sings "On the Road Again" at the website. :)

12. oh yes, it works!
I'm a deckhand on an auto ferry boat and I can tell you what a difference it makes.
I am gagging on regular diesel exhaust every day.
I can pinpoint every vehicle that drives on that is using Biodiesel.
With as little as a 80/20 blend, (80% diesel-20% biodiesel) the difference is unbelievable.
No stink, no gagging on the fumes and the engine noise is reduced too.
Here in this county (San Juan Islands) you can buy it at the pump.
Yes, it is more expensive (what's up with that?) but it is better for your engine, is renewable and
it doesn't have to be pumped from the ground.
More and more vehicles are using it every day.
There are some problems with it clogging fuel filters at first and older fuel lines may not be compatible (especially older diesel engines) but I think the newer engines are ready to go.
Go Willy!
