Is Cheney bullying the CIA again?
We know now that Dick Cheney badgered CIA analysts to distort their findings regarding Iraq, WMDs, and Al Qaeda, as part of the disinformation campaign leading to the Iraq war. He's been roundly criticized for it.

Now, the misadministration is mounting another campaign in preparation for an invasion of Iran. They're recycling all the old speeches, replacing 'Iraq' with 'Iran'. They don't seem to have changed the playbook at all, because it's all a formality anyway and their credibility is zero.

So here's the thing. Last Thursday, my wife happened to be passing CIA headquarters at the same moment a major motorcade was entering, complete with lots of cop cars, flashing lights and blacked-out SUVs. When she went by again, later in the day, the motorcade was exiting. Was this Tricky Dick up to his tricks again?

By the way, there's a hilarious sign in front of that place. It says "George Bush Center For Intelligence." What an oxymoron.

4. I don't know yet. I've just started James Risens book
Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 10:48 AM by notadmblnd
but the reason the building was renamed to George bush Center for Intelligence.. is because it was Tenants way of kissing up to the Bushes after the election.

From what Risen says it was Rumsfeld that was originally the one who was pegged for director of CIA but the old man told Georgie boy that he had enough on his plate to deal with and to leave Tenant in place for now.

8. I'm pretty sure it was renamed in 1999
Still the idea of Rummy heading the CIA boggles the mind (although I'm actually probably more concerned about what he's doing with the DIA & other assorted covert military madness).

5. Good call...unlikely it was Duh-bya
or that they would make a fuss like that about any lower-caste moron.

I'm sure he's doing his very best "1945 Hitler" rant and they're smiling and thinking privately of their own retirements.
