South Dakota Governor Rounds Approval rating falls 14-pts in 1 month
A new statewide poll indicates that Governor Mike Rounds who has had approval ratings in the 70's has faltered with the new Abortion Law signed into law last month. In February, Rounds had an app/dis rating of 72-23. Now it is 58-38 with his approval dropping 14-points and his negative rating jumping 15-points.

1. Mike, Mike! Here!! Quick!! Grab the teflon coated COATHANGER!!!
I know it's not like getting the law purged from the books, but it is a beginning. There must be general discontent first.

2. It would seem
that the majority of South Dakotans were not in favor of this law, so much for law makers representing their constituents!!!!!

5. I'm surprised it's not down more - 59% oppose in SD
From last July:

http://www.surveyusa.com/SupremeCourtJuly05.htm

Who should have the final say on abortion?
Your state government?
The Federal Government?
Or should the government have no say?

South Dakota:
State - 20%
Federal - 17%
No Say - 59%

But, I think that those who want to ban abortions are more likely to be single issue voters on that topic than pro-choice citizens. So the backlash is not as strong.
