Just Curious - When Will Companies Start Thinking That Hiring.....

Americans and keeping their workforce in this country is a marketing advantage against their competitors and start using that in the promotion of their products. Will it ever happen or is the cost savings too great to pass up and companies will have to outsource their jobs outside of the U.S.?

and paying them a salary will enable these Americans to buy whatever it is they are selling.

no benefits and deadly working conditions. Just like the good old days in the U.S. back around 1890.

The other day I saw a "Buy American" sticker on a Dodge Ram pickup. Last I heard, those were built in Mexico.

here to sell at US made prices, that might help. This free ride to companies that off-shore and outsource has got to stop.

I don't see the "customer service" help me with my new computer type jobs coming back...ever. The cost savings is too great in that case.

I do see some others coming back though.

I know several people who work for a legacy airline in aircraft maintenance & repair. Most of those jobs have been outsourced to other countries, by ALL airlines. The new "cheaper guys" are screwing up, and the planes have to come back to the hangers in the US for their local crews to fix the mess that was made. It will take a while, but these companies are going to realize that it really IS cheaper to have the damn job done right the first time!

I also heard one CEO of a Mfg. operation who closed his operations down in the US and opened a new one in Mexico. e said he is VERY UNHAPPY! QC has just died! e's now talking about bringing the whole thing back. Sorry I don't remember the name of the business or the CEO. I saw this in an interview about 8 months ago on cnbc business news.

policy Corps may eyeball America again, otherwise.. they think in profits, if you stuck buying it... go ahead and try and change it, the next company carries the same philosophy and caters to the same market.

In other words if you buy a dell your tech help is in India. If you buy a mac your tech help is out of India, IBM, Compaq.. go ahead and find me a computer with American tech help attached to it. And there isn't a thing we can do about it.

Nothing will change until the playing field is level, I just don't think we know how to do that just yet.

recall their last made-in-USA toaster that was years old, and their parents' wedding gift toaster that was 25 years old and still ticking, and also repairable. I have bought 10 flashlights since Hurricane Earl, and recall my parents' old, rusty flashlight that was kept in the tool box, and always worked when needed. I believe Americans will come to the opinion that they would pay a lot more for an appliance or merchandise that would be operable in a pinch.
