Reflection of the times on "24?" (no spoiler)

Yes, the popular anti-terrorism by the seat-of-the-pants program on Fox..

The same themes repeat every season: someone from the top is sent to manage the local LA Counter Terrorism Unit. This year, the group was attacked by a nerve gas and about 40% died.

So someone from Homeland Security with a bloated assistant arrive.

"Why are you really here?"

"CTU is being absorbed into the Homeland Security Department."

And I could not help but wondering whether this is after FEMA being absorbed with the disastrous results.

3. Welcome to DU

and glad to find more fans of 24 here. Some dislike it because it is on Fox and because it affirms that fact that this country is constantly under threat of terrorism which provides all the excuses for the patriot acts etc.

But it is a good program and, really, President Logan is like Nixon, including the praying, as well as Bush.

4. I find the plots to be

all over the place ideaology wise.

I was disappointed and irritated with that whole "Amnesty Global" thing last season. That pissed me off. I don't like their constant use of torture.

But the show itself is entertaining, though this season I'm annoyed they've been whacking so many major characters.

5. I'm a "huge" fan but taped it last night.

I'm wondering if the US has a plan similar to CTU where we can handcuff dimson and lock him up for not acting in the best interests of our country. There are times, like the speech this a.m., where I think that's exactly what should happen!
